Kentucky should be furious!! Half represented!? Just go through the processes as if he was dead, then they’ll out themselves when they contest it.

Current US politics are ridiculous. How come there aren’t large protests with burnt tires, thrown concrete blocks, and biological waste being pumped into government buildings like France had in the recent years? And before anybody points that out, French police and military also have guns, so being armed is not unique to the US forces. Hasn’t prevented the unarmed Frenchies from taking action too.

Mere words don’t mean anything to these politicians.

They’re using this to test how long Americans will tolerate having a clearly dead person hold elected office for when Trump finally farts himself to death

Why when there’s already Grassley. Hell they had Diane Feinstein still voting for what a year after showing she had no mental facilities or ability to do anything without massive assistance?

Everyone cares, but no one has the power do to anything about it because americans keep abstaining or voting republicans in, because they’re idiots.

He’s on sick leave. Which would be totally normal in Europe.

The irony here is that he gets to enjoy what he has worked rabidly his entire life to deny his fellow citizens.

    Fuck this walking corpse.

Yeah, if what was happening to Mitch wasn’t so exceptional in America then this would be a non issue.

Americans, btw, what’s happening to Mitch is just what happens to ANY PERSON AT ALL in most countries when they are suffering from severe long-term illness and disability.

Except that most people in most countries are retired by age 84 and therefore wouldn’t be “off” on sick leave in the first place.

But yes, otherwise, the point stands.

Yeah, if what was happening to Mitch wasn’t so exceptional in America then this would be a non issue.

It would still be an issue because (a) Kentuckians are missing half of their Senate representation, and (b) because his death is obviously being hidden for bad faith political purposes, to illegally deprive Kentucky’s governor of his right to appoint a replacement.

Nevermind that regardless of any other factor the absence alone for such a long time means that the ethical thing to do would be for him to resign.

Yes, that’s one of the things that happens in this violent and inhumane nation. I now live in Europe, and I had a lot more than 75 days of sick leave when I had my amputation. I still have my job and my employer isn’t mad at me in the slightest, because here it’s understood that shit happens and that’s life.

Now the orange felon has made it nearly impossible for americans to leave because the world hates our guts even more. I’d be embarrassed to even go to another country without a short that just says SORRYYYYYY on it.

I certainly would be careful about saying you’re American if you go on vacation abroad. But I’m a long-time expat, and I can tell you if you behave well and you integrate in the society of your choice, people know the difference between ugly Americans and those who choose to be better.

Mitch would croak so fast if he heard that Congress passed a bill giving Americans job protection for sick leave equal to the length of his absence.
