1·1 year agoDoesnt have to be an “easily winnable” game tbf, Havertz is constantly in good positions, up to his teammates to find him.
Think Arteta and Edu are waiting for a top top GK to appear on the market and then replace Raya/Ramsdale. Thats why Ramsdale got a new contract, when Raya became available for a good deal, we got him because he is an upgrade on Ramsdale. When a big GK talent appears we will get him to replace Raya. Getting our own Allison/Courtouis is the next step for our project. That and a ST
Thought Raya was good today. Made a good save after the Saliba mistake, and would probably have saved Brownhills shot too if the ball didnt deflect of Gabriel.

Its nice to see Havertz starting to get comfortable here. Helping link the play, creates space for those around him, doesnt shy away from the physical battles and he has finally started to shoot. Things are pointing in the right direction for him. Problem is of course that he cost 65 million and was brought in to replace a key member and so far he hasnt looked like a 65 mill player.
But for me, after he started to play as RCM vs Sheffield he has looked good and Saka has had a lot more room to work with. Its gonna be fun to watch Havertz development, Arteta didnt make us spend 65 mill on him for no reason, especially when other cheaper alternatives were on the market.

Some guy on twitter saying Sancho has offers from Italy and Saudi Arabia but is ready to take a big wage cut to secure a move to a top english team. He would take any oppurtunity to speak to Pep or Arteta.
What lineup do we wanna see vs West Ham? Looking at the teams that are left in the competition I think we can win it this year so I dont want to see too weak of a team, but with Newcastle coming after Carabao game some roation will happen.

I understand Arsenal fans debating Raya vs Ramsdale, even though its annoying when its clear Arteta sees Raya as his number 1. But ffs, why am I seeing Antonio from West Ham and Callum Wilson debating it?!
Next 2 games are “easy” games, think its a good time for us to rest Ødegaard. Let him rest vs Sheffield and West Ham, maybe give him some minutes for match fitness but let him be fully ready for Newcastle.
Vs Sheffield I think starting Jorginho would be playing it too safe. Would be interesting to see Rice as the DM with Zinchenko at LCM. Definetly a game Zinchenko should start but Tomiyasu has not shown anything to deserve being dropped.

For Chelsea price should be 70-75 million, Ramsdale is most likely they future England number 1 and is very young for being GK.
Raya takes more risks and is willing to bait press more than Ramsdale did, which is what Arteta wants. Raya does more of what Arteta wants from a GK even if fans prefer Ramsdale who just hoofed it
I think people are forgetting that Ramsdale distribution regressed last season and was not up to standard this season either. Instead of playing it short he would usually just hoof it up. Raya continues to play out from the back even after he makes a mistake, that makes him brave in my opinion. Its clear Arteta wants a keeper that is calm under pressure and Raya is more calm than Ramsdale (For now)
