I’m super happy for Havertz he’s finally got the reward for the good movement he’s shown this season in the final third and his overall performance yesterday was better but I still think there’s a massive issue as a midfielder with him. He’s just not comfortable on the ball in tight areas or on the turn in midfield areas it was better when he played on the right side but I still think it’s gonna be a problem for us at times. Odegaard dropped deeper more in build up yesterday I thing which helped maybe that’ll continue.

I know people keep mentioning the defensive aspect but we’re gonna have to compromise here because we simply don’t have an option that’s great attacking wise and defensively. Havertz is almost certainly gonna be a better defensive option but no one thought he’d be any good defensively when he first joined, if Trossard can be a decent defender and offer a lot more going forward than I think it’d be worth it tbh or at least worth trying.

That being said he’d probably be my back up striker to Jesus, we need to just buy a central mid in January.

He’s been good mostly but his lack of physicality is definitely an issue. It feels like we have a few too many players that are reliant on other players imo

We definitely have an issue with the LCM this season but I feel like it’s unfair to blame Havertz tbh. We signed him to play a position he didn’t play in because they believed it’d work that’s much more on the people who signed him if it doesn’t work than him. I think the issue is that odegaard’s creativity has been basically non existent as well so the midfield in general just offers nothing in terms of creating chances.

If we’re playing teams we’re meant to beat especially at home I’d just play Odegaard and Vieira maybe switch their sides at times and let them rotate mostly but this weekend for example you basically have to play Jorginho and rice or rice and Havertz for defensive help.

That draw to Fulham is the one that really bugs me tbh, the other 2 aren’t inexcusable but dropping points to a team that bad is a worry. We just aren’t good enough right now going forward, last season we could come back easily from conceding first now I don’t see it the same at all. They need to change something we can’t play through the middle at all.

I also don’t know why we have to play an inverted full back every game now, this isn’t against zinchenko I rate him but we have rice and Jorginho int here just play a 4-2-3-1 and play zinchenko as a normal left back or Tomi left back.

It’s the first game of our normal front 3 so maybe we shouldn’t overreact but it looked basically the same as before there’s still nothing going forward.
