  • It’s an okay computer with a discount that brings it to the price of what it is actually worth on MRSP Q4-2023, probably should be priced at $600 realistically, nothing special or fancy about it.

Asus Z13 has much nicer screen and battery life than the Dell.

ThinkPad Z13 has better keyboard and build quality, and better support than Asus and Dell combined with Basic and Premier Onsite.

If you’re spending almost $1K on a laptop, get something with flavor.

The Inspiron is not even an upper class Latitude, so it’ll have worst support from Dell and the keyboard on that thing sucks hard.

  • RE: reset the network and tried on different WIFI’s
Verify that 5GHz Wi-Fi works on other devices in the close range area?

If the product can connect to 2.4GHz just fine and to a hotspot, then try also resetting the modem/router.

How many different Wi-Fi’s have you tried it on?
Can you load the laptop on Linux and test it from the USB OS?

Not uncommon that other software & driver combinations on Windows are potentially wrecking the connection.

Maybe try re-install fresh copy of Win11 and Win10 Pro and see if the issue is resolved or not.

There is possibility that the network card itself may also be bad as well or the network wires are loose/swapped.

  • if you’re connecting to Asus ProART monitor at home/work, then doesn’t matter what screen you get.

however, if this is for work, and you’re on the go, then get an Asus laptop with OLED and i7 cpu / RTX3050 graphics, for $1k or less.

Best Buy has open box/clearance/discounts that will offer Asus OLED, matte/glossy coating is fine.

  • Gaming on Apple MacBook is crap, don’t even try it unless you’re installing Windows on it and playing some old generic games.

Get the Lenovo computer with RTX4060 graphics for GI gaming.

If you want battery life, then yes get the MacBook, but don’t expect to game on it, that shit won’t even run GI at even a quarter of the speed of a RTX4060 laptop.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen10/11 will be better option for Windows solution and battery life, but it’s not for gaming at all - so don’t even try it for GI.

  • as of q4-2023, I wouldn’t even consider anything RTX 2000 series, not even a 2050 that’s being built with some modern laptops as of 2022-2023, it’s just too old and dated.

anything Max-Q will be reduced in performance to protect thermals and power performance barrier limitations. Ti models will “try” to offer more juice than the non-Ti models, but only if the cooling and power availability is adequate in the design engineering.

rtx 3050 will still offer considerable performance for certain games that don’t require a lot of juice. can play d2r and sc-remake and sc2 with optimal framerates.
if you’re not a hardcore gamer trying to play FPS games, then the 3050 is adequate.

3060/4060 is where the performance pretty much doubles. - medium settings at 1080p with fast fps.
this is the bare minimum that serious gamers that like to try various game titles should be considering at minimum, but don’t expect maxed out settings on newer games after 2022 with high fps.

3070/4070 - better performance, but not as noticeable as a jump from 3050 - 3060.
    expect better performance.

3080/4080 - 3090/4090 is top of the line. best performance available as of Q4-2023.
