Looking at a laptop that says “Rtx 4060” I have no idea what either of those mean, is that a lot of Rtx or a little?

as of q4-2023, I wouldn’t even consider anything RTX 2000 series, not even a 2050 that’s being built with some modern laptops as of 2022-2023, it’s just too old and dated.

anything Max-Q will be reduced in performance to protect thermals and power performance barrier limitations. Ti models will “try” to offer more juice than the non-Ti models, but only if the cooling and power availability is adequate in the design engineering.

rtx 3050 will still offer considerable performance for certain games that don’t require a lot of juice. can play d2r and sc-remake and sc2 with optimal framerates.
if you’re not a hardcore gamer trying to play FPS games, then the 3050 is adequate.

3060/4060 is where the performance pretty much doubles. - medium settings at 1080p with fast fps.
this is the bare minimum that serious gamers that like to try various game titles should be considering at minimum, but don’t expect maxed out settings on newer games after 2022 with high fps.

3070/4070 - better performance, but not as noticeable as a jump from 3050 - 3060.
    expect better performance.

3080/4080 - 3090/4090 is top of the line. best performance available as of Q4-2023.
