- Block the domain and never use AI again
I feel like LLMs would be a fun toy, like a magic 8 ball. I mean, if they could exist without the environmental damage and grand theft of human knowledge. And the risk of AI psychosis. But this obsession with using it for everything is just nauseating.
In The Penultimate Truth by Philip K Dick one of the characters has an LLM in a box called a rhetoricizer, where you give it some keywords or a phrase and it generates copy. It’s pretty much dismissed as a toy there.
Give it time. If everyone is generating copy, we’ll all yearn for unpolished, stupid and short text.
Yeah IMO they’re brain rotting novelties at best but letting kids have access to them should be a felony.
Some Olopen models can run on some higher end phones and decent video cards. These don’t need giant data centers.
They want stupid people which they can manipulate with their LLMs. AI may be usefull for science and medicine, because it can solve problems in minutes or days which with traditional work needs years, but in particular use to do the own tasks is an absolute horror.

What a fantastic artist. But he stopped posting a year ago?
Is that the globglogabgalab?
Number 43 will SHOCK me?
Yeah, it’s “Ask ChatGPT how to do electrical work on your house! Save money instead of hitting trained professionals”
Are there any decent periodicals still being printed? I haven’t look in at least 15 years.
“Written by humans for humans”
I have doubts.
You’re right. We lied. Most people wouldn’t have caught that, and having those doubts just shows how smart and dynamic you really are. And honestly— that’s bold.
Ooh, you’re good.
man, you’re a natural
Either they’re lying or telling you how worthless their publication is.
AI is so good that it has to be advertised ad nauseum, the most important and powerful amazing technology ever but we need billions in marketing and advertising, sure thing
Create your own meal plans & shopping lists
Wow! My OWN shopping list? 💖
ChatGPT, make a shopping list for me, just make shit up if you have to
Here’s a practical shopping list for you:
- milk
- eggs
- bread
- butter
- cheese
- yogurt
…
Wonder how humanity did it for the last thousands of years… But maybe if it takes off… Why not offer shopping lists at the supermarket? Could be the first aisle. Ready-made shopping lists, two for $1.
bruh, eat some fiber
chatgpt: sure thing, here is a piece of lumber from various species of tree, montery pine, cypress, RED wood bark. we do not reccomend yew trees, dumb canes, etc.
or we can reccomend your own blend, sawdust.
perfect, get the sanding tool.
No fiber for ChatGPT power users. Just dairy products, egg and bread 😅
Though… Now that I rethink this… Isn’t AI supposed to kill us by 2030? Or at least make us miserable? We probably need to make it way more unhealthy. And add a few “spicy” options like undercooked chicken.
Same thing with apps vefore AI. People kept twlling me their amazig shopping list apps and i never got it. I either write it down and go to the store and buy stuff i need. I don’t know about other people, but you often buy the same things over and over, with some exceptions, depending on what you plan to cook.
Chances are those apps were hoovering up all the data and then used for personalized advertising. The users are literally telling you what they need to buy. It doesn’t get better than that.
So much of what gets invented today is just gimmicky shit which has no earthly use except to make you consume more.
I think the only tricky situation is if there’s multiple people to coordinate, who want to add items while not at home, or go shopping on their way home. Other than that any simple (paper) note will do?!
I got an office whiteboard for the kitchen. I write down stuff that’s about to run out, or whatever I want to eat in the next days. And once I go shopping, I either memorize the items or snap a picture. No further software needed.
I just use a basic Todo app for my shopping list, but I really like having it on my phone for two reasons:
I can reorder things before I go to match the aisles order. All the HBA together, all the cleaning stuff, all the paper stuff, then swoop across the aisles back to front, dairy, chips, cereal, coffee, cold stuff, canned goods, Mexican, pasta, condiments, freezer, deli/vegetables.
Two, I can check stuff off and it removes it reducing clutter.
Sometimes I use a paper list and I get lost on it and end up backtracking.
I think you forgot
- beer
and also
- beer
horse, cow, DEER.
Why not offer shopping lists at the supermarket? Could be the first aisle. Ready-made shopping lists, two for $1.
You know… Call me crazy, but something like that could work? Ideally just free, but checklists for the 20 most common items to help remind you what you might miss, and also possibly recipes (frequently switched) from things the shop keeps in stock.
I’ll can make you an shopping list!
u need ketchup, celery stucks, fransh drossiny, plenstic spoots, mayommiase, trimscilts, and largdorny!
I have doubts that this feature actually works. I still don’t trust these bots with math.
When I was in the fifth grade, I wrote a series of short stories about five cats driving around in a '57 Chevy solving crimes.
I’d take foolscap, fold it in half and draw a cover for the issues.
The point of this story is that even those covers had better, more dynamic graphic design fundamentals that the soulless piece of shit on the shelf here. And I was 10…
Well that’s nice to see.
I didn’t realise Viz was still going
Ten fucking quid!
You have any idea how outrageously expensive these chatbots are? Someone has to pony up the guineas and sure as anything, it’s not going to be Clammy Sammy or Dario Asmodai!
It’s written by humans, for humans!
…
Just like the THIRTEEN other issues in their “Tech Guides” series… that are ONLY about LLMs, and mostly include AI-generated imagery.
And get this: they’re even “the world’s first publisher to produce a magazine dedicated to ChatGPT”! Great.
I’m sure the… one person on their team that writes for the Tech topics of their magazines (while also writing about ADHD) definitely made every single one of these issues on their own.
This one looks like stock imagery on the cover, too… pathetic
What else are they supposed to use?
I was expecting the cover to be slop too
The Viz magazine next to it will improve your life more.
Also whatever that WW1 Gallipoli magazine has to say in the bottom right. Glory to the ANZAC forces for showing bravery in such a shit and botched operation, let no one say they were cowards.
Note I’m a Californian I just know what badasses look like and can damned well respect it.
reareasons 1 to 47, it makes you sure you want to kill sam altman
Technical snake oil.
