chelsea & man city being relegated would cure my depression
I dont know what botched translation you heard but when he was talking about saliba not playing many games & mentality shift from arsenal to france he was making excuses for him. He was defending saliba from the ongoing journalist narrative that he wasn’t performing well enough for france.
interview is here at 36:50 https://youtu.be/6XHwZQKI_qY?si=8MoN6bKZKuTjW82e&t=2210
Deschamps LOVES saliba, I cannot stress that enough
I think the not being able to concentrate for 90 minutes thing is a problem precisely because we play posession based football, Arteta wants him to be a real sweeper keeper and change his positioning depending on which areas of the pitch we have the ball, which requires constant attention from ramsdale. Arteta also spoke about how he was really happy with Raya playing it short & out of the press after the city game, wheras ramsdale loooves to go long, so that’s probably part of the problem too.
Completely agree that all the press/podcast stuff ramsdale loves to do has done him zero favours too.
England checked Saka because we lied to them and told them he was fit to play right up until the man city game, to make sure no leaks came from their side. Brazil wanting to check jesus is weird.
3 points, spurs & newcastle mudded, great day for football
Didn’t ornstein recently say we’re not getting anyone in jan? I get that its fun to throw names around but some of you might wanna temper transfer expectations
I hope we never play Rice as an 8 again. You have a seriously elite #6 and you want to shoehorn him as an #8… why? There’s Havertz, ESR & Vieira in the squad who can all play there. ~20 mins of rice as a 6, suddenly the entire team plays well & we score 2, its not a coincidence. Chelsea are a good side but the decison to give them similar levels of respect to City, when you know it absolutely kills our offense was crazy.
I think he’s good enough to go to another big club, I can’t really see him taking too big a step down you know? Maybe Brighton/Brentford but they’re more of buy low sell high type of clubs. Its a strange one
He absolutely could if he wanted to, but I cant see it happening here. From those interviews it sounds like he’d rather just leave than put his head down and work on closing that gap.
Where does ramsdale end up then? United?
Could see this brighton drop off from a mile away, chelsea gutting their ENTIRE scouting department + a shitton of their coaches is really starting to show
