Lukas Graham is pretty big. And Finneas is Billie Eilish’s brother and producer. He makes a ton of money.

The other two though are absolutely standing on business and taking a hit.

Fair enough, I didn’t know any of them before but it’s not really my style of music. I still feel like they are nowhere near as popular as Sheeran.

Beoga actually sound quite nice classic irish folk music!

Well I guess Lukas Graham only had the one big album a while back. So good on them too for standing up.

You are right that none of them are as big as Ed Sheeran though.

Yesterday, Ed Sheeran said he couldn’t cancel tge tour because it would screw over his other amazing supporting acts. Today, headline went like

Three Four All supporting acts quit.

Idk man the boomers were an especially awful generation.

Their parents called them “the me generation”, before the baby boom became a term, because they were so selfish.

Then turned around and raised gen-x through Gen Z and called them lazy …

The boomers were a product of their time and we got fucked by them hard.

When the “stopantisemitism” organisation wrote an article about macklemore pink posted it on insta and simply said “awful” or something. a week or so later she provided a more detailed stance which was kinda mixed. something like “everyone hating on me. I’m a jew. Violence is bad. hamas is bad.”

She made specific allegations that Macklemore brought out a costume designed to resemble a Jewish stereotype (black hat, beard, prominent nose) and in doing so implied that Jews had responsibility for Gaza. Was she lying or distorting things?

Is there more context that obviously identifies it as a Jewish caricature?

I’m pretty sure this guy tried to sell me a moped in Macedonia.

                –edit–

Here’s Macklemore’s response to the accusation:

He explained that he randomly chose the elements of the outfit so that he could disguise himself and move freely around during the secret show.

“I acknowledge how the costume could, within a context of stereotyping, be ascribed to a Jewish caricature,” he wrote.

“I am here to say that it was absolutely not my intention and unfortunately at the time I did not foresee the costume to be viewed in such regard.”

They are also just kind of shitty people in general.

They’ve spent their entire lives with everyone telling them they were gifted musical idols, and they are to an extent. That doesn’t make them great or useful people though.

They won’t build you a house, or heal the sick, or drill a well, or take away your garbage, but they are good at what they do.

The Metallica show I saw they were touring with Five Loser Death Punch. FFDP made plenty of right wing dog whistle comments through their set, and there’s no secret about how they want to be percieved.

I have never been to a tour where the main band doesn’t choose supporting bands that generally align with their views. Sometimes the less-popular band gets to say what the main one doesn’t want to themselves.

The atendees flew trump flags, thin blue line flags, amd Gadsden flags in the parking lot. They wore militia-style shirts and hats (crossed rifles, “freedom” slogans, raggedy flag shirts, etc). They were everywhere.

Metallica’s public image is highly curated, but everything I found about them points toward “highly conservative rich white dudes with few consequences” beliefs. The attendee’s display of thier politics just seals it.

I was a very long time Metallica fan, from the RtL, MoP, and AJfA days. I thought they were way out of line when it came to threatening fans over the whole Napster thing, but the right wing BS I saw at the concert ensures I’ll never listen to them again.

and all the supporting acts responded, “we don’t take blood money! Bye Ed.”
