Question is if they’ll flip back to ‘normal’ after Trump is done and they get a new regime.
Have they been watching the “opposition” Democratic Party? They agree with everything Trump is doing, but hate that he is so crass when going about it. When Trump is gone, it will be more of the same, only with a smile, but without policy rage posts that look like the words have been cut and pasted out of a magazine like an old-timey kidnapping note.
Trump is himself a product of the declining material conditions. It’s not like he just appeared out of an alternate dimension. Opportunists like him have always been around, what changed was that people became so disillusioned with the the mainstream that they started paying attention to people like Trump. Things are going to continue on the exact same trajectory after Trump is gone, and the situation is likely going to be a lot worse by then. This whole notion that things will just go back to the way they were is a liberal delusion. Europe no longer has the value it once did for the US, and regardless who is in charge next, their imperative is going to be to continue divesting from and cannibalizing what they can of Europe.

Well yeah this is why I’m wondering if they’ll all just go “oh, bad orange man is gone, America is good again.”
It’s going to be hard to do since the US policy towards Europe isn’t going to change for the better after Trump’s gone. The most likely scenario that I foresee is the collapse of the liberal centre in Europe with nationalist parties getting into power.
Most european leaders don’t share that analysis though. They see Trump as an abberation and are just holding their breath waiting for his term to be over. They do not understand or accept what Trump is. Look at how they still simp for NATO and the US.
But also look at how the liberal mainstream is collapsing. The parties that are in power in France, Germany, and UK are all scraping the floor right now. It’s almost certain that they’re going to lose power to nationalists going forward.
Should have figured that out 70 years ago.

Great. Now if only they could recognize that the US is a greater threat than Russia. Russia could be Europe’s greatest ally, if only they could get over their unhinged russophobia and stop listening to Baltic and Ukrainian Nazis.
It’s absolutely incredible to me that Europeans don’t understand that the whole proxy war on Russia is fundamentally against European interest. What I expect will happen in the end is that once Russia wins in Ukraine, we’ll see individual European countries start quietly making deals with Russia. Hungary and Slovakia are the obvious candidates here, but I can even see France doing it. The whole liberal mainstream is very likely to collapse at that point as well. If the EU tries to prevent countries from doing this, then there’s a really good chance they just exit the EU and flip over to BRICS.
The EU missed the opportunity to include Russia from the onset. What a different world it would be.
What a nightmare would it have been if they had done a Marshall Plan for Russia after capitalist restoration. But back in the 90s they didn’t fear China at all. Now it’s too late for such an alliance.
Europeans using their brains more than usual lately? I’m sure they’ll stop soon and head right back into the arms of their fascist overlords soon enough
