1 year agoVictoria were a fool to go ahead with the tax. There was always going to be a Challenge to High Court over the charge just like what happened to state imposed fuel exvises.
No mention how much money Victoria spent fighting the case and how much legal costs of the people challenging the law were paid.
Took a long time to decide to pay back the tax. No advice on repayment of fines issued re this illegal law
And yet other states were ready to introduce their own Road User Charge for evs. They just waited to see what would happen if Victoria introduced it first
