Have Nissan fixed ev battery cooling?
No point without fixing ev battery cooling system
Considering that the new Leaf and likely the other 2 models are going to be built on the Ariyas platform, that likely also means the Leaf will no longer ship with one pedal driving either. The Ariya lacks one pedal drive, so unless nissan is going to make one pedal drive a point of difference for the Leaf compared to the Ariya, the Leaf v3 is DoA imo.
Agreed - the one pedal driving in the LEAF is amazing, one of the best systems in the industry. I have no idea why they ditched the technology.
The absence of single-pedal driving on Ariya killed my interest. I don’t get it, Nissan: why develop the best single-pedal driving experience among EVs, then not add it to new models?
“Nissan’s Hyper Punk concept seems like a good inspiration for the Juke EV, with an edgy design tailored for content creators, influencers, and artists.” Hard. Pass.
And they call the cybertruck ugly…
Man I loved my Leaf, was a blast to drive!
Agree with Electreks take on this, that what the Leaf needs is to ditch the chademo charging in favor or NACS for the US and CCS for Europe, and also just update the battery to an active cooled one with better charging.
Here in Europe, the lack of CCS and poor charging performance severely hinders this car from being a true first car.
its just going to be an Ariya redux.
Every day I begin to hate crossover SUVs more and more. Why must cars of all form factors be consumed by this god-awful SUV trend?
easier to place batteries?
I was talking about cars in general, not just EVs. But even in the case of EVs, that’s just a poor excuse to avoid developing better battery systems.
I’d say it’s lazy rather than easy. Manufacturers can take their ICE-SUV platform and drop a big ass battery in it, and it kinda works (that’s what stellantis has been doing).
But the kWh of that big SUV’s battery then gets eaten by the poor efficiency of the SUV design… so what good is it?
Dedicated platform don’t seem to have trouble fitting enough battery. Look at all the longest range EVs. They are sedans, not SUVs.
SUV help to have both cargo and range. But if this was really the goal, we’d have higher station wagon rather than SUVs (probably something like the Megane or the Enyaq).
Are they still refusing to put battery cooling on these as well???
Costing them sales…
So instead of answering my question… I just get downvoted :(
…as a crossover coupe SUV…
Now we’re just missing sedan and convertible on this bingo card of let’s try to be everything all at once.
Is hatchback the free space?
Introducing the new Porsche 911. As we go back to our roots as an All-wheel drive crossover sedan coupe SUV hatchback convertible!
May I present to you, the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet
I am not buying an SUV, miniSUV, anySUV. Why is this the only choice we have? The Leaf looks OK if some normal wheels were put on, but the other two? OMFG what are they thinking?
Ioniq6, model 3, model s, p2, i4, eqe just to name a few.
Ioniq6 is FUGLY, I have a 3-it’s not so good, S is a tank, I4 has bug eye’s. eqe? thanks I don’t know that one.
I just want an electric BMW 3, Drives a bit sporty, doesn’t feel like it’s coming apart over every bump, Niceish interior.
Nissan will launch the next-gen LEAF as a crossover coupe SUV to compete better.
Lol
Just change from Chademo to CCS or NACS, and add better level 3 charging. The rest is fine!
Nah, the battery cooling is not fine, in that it’s nonexistent. That thing needs quite a few changes under the hood.
Fair enough, but I think the shape and size is perfectly fine.
