Victoria were a fool to go ahead with the tax. There was always going to be a Challenge to High Court over the charge just like what happened to state imposed fuel exvises.

No mention how much money Victoria spent fighting the case and how much legal costs of the people challenging the law were paid.

Took a long time to decide to pay back the tax. No advice on repayment of fines issued re this illegal law

Either a bot wrote this or some dude getting paid a penny per word. It’s such a low quality article. I don’t even know where this happened, what country, etc. No sources listed, random quotes from people I have no way of knowing even exist.

    “Shadow Treasurer Brad Rowswell”

Is that a joke? Or is there actually a position called shadow treasurer? Because that sounds hilariously evil.

Of course the AUS government would charge evs a tax per mile, lol

it was only one state, and the national government was against it, and actually supported the legal challenge.

And yet other states were ready to introduce their own Road User Charge for evs. They just waited to see what would happen if Victoria introduced it first

Its an Australian site. It’s not unreasonable to assume that readers know that Victoria is a state. Your ignorance of Australian states, titles and people is your own issue.
