The great thing about lemmy is that if you don’t like a post, there’s another one under it.
Its kind of a dick move to start writing hate comments under a comic that you find mildy displeasing.
Generally, here there’s less annoying people, and I’m less likely to see a dipshit again, so I don’t block much.
On tumblr and mastodon? Anyone who’s slightly annoying gets blocked.
edit: seeing some of the comments here has me rethinking this.
they look fine to me :P
Blue maga? I wouldn’t encourage people to vote for the Democrat party if it had any viable competition.
Ad-Hominen attack, I think its called.
Is there a fallacy fallacy? where people assume that because something has a fallacy its wrong, or they accuse something of having a non-existant fallacy?
That would be sea-lioning.
Is there a word for dragging the argument to near-unrelated topics? E.g, post about lemmy.ml having comments on whether Ukraine has a nazi government.
A lot of people are avoiding lemmy.ml and donating to the lemmy project because of the devs political views (tankies).
The donations dropped to critical levels recently, meaning that they would need more donations to keep the project going without getting a job. They appealed in a lot of places for more donations.
genuinely, whats up with not being able to use spaces?
You never store passwords. They should be hashed and salted.
so secure, no one can get in, even her!
friendica does this.
Assuming a breach, and hashes are released, its significantly harder to bruteforce a long password.
Some (a lot) poorly set up websites may not even have a limit on password attempts, or cooldowns.
You can link to comms like so:
I sometimes forget tbh.
Comms is a pretty good word imo.
r/worldnews has always been a joke when it comes to israel/palestine.
