I’m not saying this should happen, but could Timber be used as a Partey replacement in midfield?

He’s got quick feet and good passing, not sure if he can turn on the ball like Partey but I think I heard he played in midfield for Ajax at points.

We’re really missing him. Those 45 minutes we got out of him this season were not enough

Just watched a Granit Xhaka highlights video from last season.

He really was outstanding, one of the best box-to-box seasons you’ll see, but one of the things that stands out to me is his linkup and understanding with everyone on that left hand side. So many one time passes for Zinchenko, Martinelli, Trossard, Jesus, even Odegaard.

I really hope Havertz can up his game a bit going forward. You’d very rarely say Xhaka was a periphery figure in a match, always high up there in touch and pass counts, really want to see Havertz get more involved from CM.

I do think missing him is a big reason why we’re not creating as much, nobody in the squad right now does what he did last season (outside of Rice, but he’s much better as the 6!)

Tomiyasu should be starting going forwards. He’s been excellent in every sub appearance this season and is a big reason we got 4 points from our last 2 games
