I saw enough of these stories that when my gf’s mom was getting be Tacoma I told her to tell them and put it in writing she won’t take delivery unless she has both fob in hand. Long story short we got her a Nissan Frontier instead. Her mom is on the go and runs a mobile animal rescue. She doesn’t have time to chase a fob down.

The biggest issue is that a lot of places are slow to have a dedicated EV certified bay. One it’s super expensive due to all the high voltage equipment. Then you’re down a bay that can pretty much only be used for ev’s. As far as I know Ford didn’t really do much to offset that cost. If the dealership is in an area where space is an issue the cost goes up even more. Not an issue with the large dealerships the small ones I can see not wanting to go with it.

For me when it comes to sedans and coupes it used to be primarily Mitsubishi when they used to have the Evo and Eclipse (the coupe not that wanna be suv they have). That an Subaru. Are they the best? Not by a long shot but they are so fun for driving. There is a great aftermarket if I wanted more power but I’m typically content with them in stock form.
