It depends on the game. If it supports simultaneous gamepad & KB&M then you use the right track pad as a mouse. If it’s something like Fallout 3, you either use M&KB bindings or joystick as mouse.
Trackpad in mouse mode is better than an analog stick for aiming IMO. Just a lot of games don’t support it correctly and Steam Input failed to be fully adopted.
