What do you mean with “analog tech”?
Aargh.

What do you mean with “analog tech”?

A whole bunch. But I think the issue with Jolla is that they are using “off the shelf” parts. If they bought European stuff, they’d have to design them and have the production stuff designed and done as well.

Yeah… Thats why its “European.” As in, almost European.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not criticizing them. The phone would cost 17390€ if it was made from European parts. Kind of have to do it this way.

Made from non-european parts

Boggles the mind.
That people are morons?
Come on now. We all know that. We shouldn’t be surprised anymore.

Debian.
I think I’m a newcomer to linux even if I did use Ubuntu for many years. But generally I have no idea what I’m doing at any given time.
About a month ago I switched to Debian. No issues. Everything works. I should have changed years ago.

If I were a moderator and saw someone call you an asshole for riding bikes, I’d ban that person. They can argue that cars are better, bicycling is stupid but if they attack you personally, they are getting a ban.
Same goes for you, if you call someone an asshole for driving a car, I don’t need that in my space either. You can tell them why you think its not good to drive that car, but just calling them an asshole for driving a car is not good.
However, if they are being an asshole about it and you call them an asshole. Thats fine.

I’m glad you got something to fall back on.

Okay that’s a bit better.
But anyway, seems like you have a horrible boss and employer. I wouldn’t work for those kinds of people. But easy for me to say, I have a social safety net unlike you guys over there.

My country doesn’t have minimum wage at all. Instead we have strong unions.

Whats that, like 7 bucks per hour? Assuming you did 5 days and 8 hour shifts? I thought you yanks were supposed to earn way more than us Europoors?

You guys broke up, he’s immature, doesn’t know how to deal with his emotions and takes it out on mocking you.
Just ignore/block him.

Decisions have to be binding in some form. You can’t just do 5 and then randomly discard 4 and go with the one result you like.
Funny how that works though. As long as something doesn’t pass, you can try again as many times as you want but the moment something passes its a “done thing” and can’t be undone. Brexit is the example of the latter. Obviously a stupid and damaging decision that cannot be voted on again because “we already voted once.”
I had 7 anxiety attacks watching this video.
Where do these people get the energy. I don’t understand.
Anyway, yay for good cheap fun and taking things apart and putting them together again.

Who is wasting resources on this? Seems a bit pointless.
Also, I think its rather perverted that if someone makes it clear they want to be left alone/anonymous, the society/media declares “NO!” and goes to insane lengths to figure out who they are.
Same thing happened with Lordi, the Finnish metal band. When they won eurovision, the main guy said “I would appreciate if we could stay anonymous, or at least not have our real faces plastered all over.” So of course the largest gossip magazine in Finland felt the need to plaster his face on the cover of their stupid magazine.
Though that did lead to a funny thing… There was a “campaign” to boycott the magazine called “käännä Seiska” - “turn Seiska.” My friend didn’t get the full idea, since “käännä” is a slang for stealing. So he stole a bunch of those magazines from a shop, only realized he was supposed to turn them upside down not steal them, after he got home with a pile of Seiska magazines.

Ah, that does warm my European heart.
The world is on fire, climate change looks to be a thing that will just happen, wars, everything getting more expensive with no hope in sight… but at least the US has less bombings!
I get that things have been shitty all the time, but generally the direction has been towards better things. I dunno if we reached a point where things are as good as it gets and getting better is more and more difficult, but I personally feel that things are in some sort of a turning point. I know I’m a grumpy fuck, but I’ve really tried to always look on the bright side of life (whistle) but I haven’t really found anything worth looking forwards to. Plaargh.

I have no qualms about banning negative, bad-faith or douchy losers to save people from blocking them. And if a community is bad enough, I’ll ban the whole community.
This is excellent. I’ve never understood the attitude that people should tolerate arseholes, because of what, free speech? Nah, bugger off with that silliness. I’ve moderated some places over the years and I’ve been told that I ban people too easily, but I’ve also been told how nice and wholesome the places were. Its pretty clear to me that having a low tolerance to arseholes is positive for the community.

What credibility?
Mostly stuff relating to Ukraine. Though I do have some complaints about him with that as well. But on the whole he’s handled Ukraine related things agreeable.
Look up “brief aan de Nederlanders” ffom 2017.
I don’t speak Dutch so I’ll skip, I’ll take your word for it. I don’t respect him at all anymore, so there’s really not much to gain to go through translating that stuff.

Rutte has been burning his credibility in my eyes at a alarming rate.
I get that he needs to do at least some level of ass kissing towards the US but he does it with his tongue very far up in there and with a weird eagerness. I don’t understand what his strategy is with trump.
Ha. That reminds of the time when my parents kept pestering me about sitting at the computer all day. Once they asked why do I “refuse” to go out with my mates. I replied with “why would I want to go out with people who bully me, when I can sit in IRC and talk to people who actually like me?” That shut them up for good about the topic lol
