      Insane that he got the absolute max sentence for the “crime” he committed. It’s such a gross signal. Had he taken hundreds of random Joe’s tax returns and leaked to the press absolutely nothing would have happened and if he even got caught, like by turning himself in, he would’ve gotten a mild sentence. But now it was wealthy and powerful folk and thus he gets hammered as hard as the law allows.

        This is a message to our ENEMIES around the World that there’s SERIOUS HARSH PUNISHMENTS if they leak a Rich Person’s Tax Returns! So they better stick to JUST Violent Insurrection and attempted Assassination of Government Officials INSTEAD!

    From GoFundMe terms, prohibited uses;

    1. the legal defense of alleged financial and violent crimes;

    So I reported it. I’m very interested if they’re going to let this slide because that kind of makes their terms of service open for legal challenge if they decide to block someone else for a similar thing, i.e. paying of fines for financial fraud.

    It’s already been canceled. You can’t use GFM to pay off civil or criminal fines.

      It’s still up on the site, I’m not going to link it because that seems like a bad idea. There were donations as of a few minutes ago.

    Trump is not a billionaire, never was. No one that rich needs everyone to pay his bills.
    He is just a welfare brat scamming people. Everything he owns is mortgaged to the hilt.
    MAGA exists to financially support #TraitorTrump.

      Alternatively, he might be a billionaire now with the insanely inflated land bubble valuations.

      And cheating people out of their money is absolutely on brand for billionaires.

        Yeah, I was going to say… people that rich never pay their bills.

        If you owe the bank $100 that’s your problem. If you owe the bank $100 million, that’s the bank’s problem.

      If you look up Grant Cardone, Aventura FL - you’ll see that he’s already got a “business consultancy” where the reviews are all about how shitty and scammy he is.

      The one who started the GoFundMe page was his wife.

        Honestly I have nothing but respect for people who manage to fleece Trump supporters with shit like this. Didn’t somebody rake and millions of dollars that was supposed to go to the wall?

          It’s probably the most important thing we can strive for, is to make it cost, ideally severely, to support Trump.

          I hope nothing more than that this grifter asks his supporters to open their pocket books to pay his debts.

          It costs money to go to Washington to overthrow the government. It costs time away from work and gas to be a part of a bunch of tool bags in a caravan to stop an imagined threat at the boarder. The more we can cost these people the less effective they can be.

          I’d guess that the rules of user engagement follow for Trump’s base as they do for almost all other social systems. So maybe only 1/1000th of his the people that voted for him are 'true believer’s. If we can get those individuals financially destitute, we might be able to stop the movement.

    The top donation is $5k, but I’m tempted to think that was someone associated with him making a huge donation to make MAGA followers think that people are giving that much. I just can’t imagine a middle-class person doing that.

    So, someone please take this idea and do it. Make one of these campaigns, but be very careful to make it neutral language. E.g., pay legal fees related to the case of state of NY against trump enterprises LLC or etc. And for the reason that it was an unfair that all these funds had to be expended on this outrageous lawsuit.
    All sounds legit, right?
    Except the sponsor writes a check to state of NY general fund.
