All from in this thread in !world@lemmy.world about a chant at a British music festival where an artist said “death, death to the IDF”.

After other users were quoting that chant in the comments and had comments removed and banned, the hero of our story, @theacharnian@lemmy.ca (appearing as “acargitz”) pointed out that under international law, fighting an occupying force is legitimate. But apparently not under world news rules, as their removed comments and the many explanations from mods make clear in the thread.

Equally against the rules is the call for the eradication of an organisation or business, even without an explicit call to violence against individual members of the business.

In the same thread: user @DeathToTheIDF@lemmings.world had comments removed for being anti-American “(again)”, though I couldn’t see the first time. It’s not even clear to me how the removed comments were anti-American.

Bonus points for the “DC Comics” removal reason. Though this seems to be incompetence, rather than malice.

It is defending genocide to lie like you did and say that biden didn’t sell weapons for genocide.

Pretty much, Biden’s views on Israel were formed (frozen?) long before any of us were born and never updated for the current state of the world.

I’d love to ask him why we never took action when they tried to kill our ambassador to Lebanon for having the temerity to open negotiations with the PLO, but then, if HE couldn’t get a straight answer, there’s no way I would.

        https://www.wrmea.org/2002-november/american-ambassador-recalls-israeli-assassination-attempt-with-u.s.-weapons.html

“Picked up by Lebanese security, the anti-tank canisters had made-in-America markings. After unanswered telegrams to the State Department and all but silent responses to his telephone inquiries, Dean eventually learned that the anti-tank weapons were sold and shipped to Israel in 1974. Dean apparently mused to himself on the irony of an American ambassador being subjected to an Israeli assassination attempt with American weapons supplied to Israel for defense.”

        1979…

Biden did not sell weapons to be used in genocide. Biden believes, legitimately believes, that the Israelis are good people and would use the weapons for the proper defense of Israel.

He’s wrong, possibly deluded, but he did not support the genocide. Israel are the bad guys here, not Biden.

He was selling weapons to netanyahu. netanyahu was and still is committing genocide. It became so obvious to everyone, even as someone as senile as biden, that the only thing those weapons were ever going to be used for was genocide. biden continued selling them anyway, in contravention of the Leahy law.

There is no ambiguity here. There is no “out” for biden on this. joseph robinette biden sold weapons for genocide. There was no other purpose. None. And you straight up lied on his behalf.

You can’t get your underoos in a knot and ban me here. You can’t use the banhammer as a “get the last word” button here.

It was obvious to everyone… but Biden. Like I’ve said in other threads, Biden makes up his mind and ignores all evidence to the contrary.

We saw it when people told him the plan to leave Afghanistan was a disaster. We saw it when people told him the economy was awful and people were hurting. His ideas about Israel are just another blind spot, a giant one.

Many reasons why there was no way he would win the election, and now here we are with “Get it over with quickly and build a waterfront resort on the graves” Trump.

No one is that stupid. He knew damned well that every last bomb he sold was going to be used to murder Palestinians.

It’s the only reason he sold weapons and the only reason you are defending him.
