Was just curious if there is an umbrella term for the devices such as Modems and ONTs that act as your ISP interface, since you can’t call them all Modems…

You can call them CPE or Customer Premise Equipment.
This sounds technically correct but too provider-side for my application (i.e. others that are looking at my documentation won’t know what it means)
It cuts down a lot of BS on the phone support lines when you use the correct terms and can have a sensible go at diagnosing the issue.
We dont use the CPE term often in the UK. It’s modem ONT router etc.
yea that’s fair! I’m just looking for a term to use in my documentation for a site that has both modems and ONTs and i want to label them “xxx1” and “xxx2”.
