two weeks now since job loss and done nothing. motivation is gone, not helped by the fnd. my laptop also karked itself so have lost all my data (still have the old datachip) which means my years of book records that i read have gone - i know i should have made a backup

Yeh I learnt the hard way about not backing up. My laptop fell off the toilet a few years back (don’t ask) and I lost years of work and photos.
