Lula’s camp had to fight against the media platform owners, who bent over backwards to help Bolsonaro. If the media (including social media) has it’s thumbs on the scale in your opponent’s favor, and you don’t organize against it you will lose. Of course, either way it is a kind of manipulation, but I prefer the kind of manipulation that requires hundreds of thousands of real people to take part, rather than a few oligarchs.
