I definitely find it hilarious how intensely the EU and Canada are diplomatically flirting with each other. I’m all for it, but let’s hurry up and set up some more dates and maybe start some more conversation of our future.

How much closer to membership? Regulatory harmonization? Common market? Euro currency? Schengen? I’m guessing that’s unlikely, but I’m very interested in what’s actually on the table.
From what I’ve seen, defence agreements, common defence procurements (including adding Canada to the SAFE program), improving trade infrastructure (ports and rail). We already have a trade deal ofc.
Common market, euro and Schengen are definitely not on the table now. Lots of countries would scream bloody murder if that was offered without having to go through the membership process.
I don’t know if membership will benefit us overall, but our stronger bond with the EU is great to see!
