I feel like I’m still missing some context.
It’s an everyman thrust into a situation that requires heroism, only more silly. Kind of like someone stepping up and landing a plane after the pilot passes out.
Yes, but how did the whole team pass out? And why isn’t the person yelling instructions just doing the surgery instead?
I mean, yes, it is the passenger-lands-the-plane bit, it just raises a lot of questions.
For me, that’s where the humor comes from. It’s an over-the-top improbable situation, and seems taken straight out of a so-bad-it’s-good type movie. Not sure if I can explain it better than that, but I find that humorous.
Yes, I think that’s how it works. The silliness is the point… I’m just a few decades out from having seen this trope. I think it used to be much more common.
Have you considered an autism diagnosis?

Yeah, I know, man, I could be here asking for accomodations but the tags on the back of my shirt don’t bother me.
Living the dream, buddy, living the dream.
Why the people giving advice aren’t helping is also where I get stuck. I like far side and am used to the sense of humor but this one is def a stretch
I mean 6 comics/week for fifteen years, there’s no criticism in saying sometimes he missed the mark, and I think Larson would be the first to agree.
