The student loan situation in the US is a great example of how truly shitty the country is beneath its mask of liberal democracy do-goodery. Basically punishing young people for believing in higher education and turning them into a decades long source of revenue.
Then there’s the healthcare system. So bad somebody whacked a health insurance CEO and people were like “yeah, that makes sense.”
Or the food quality. Poorly regulated, sugar and salt is the answer to damn near everything.
So the US doesn’t value education, it doesn’t value healthcare, it doesn’t value food quality. What the fuck does it value that actually matters to the wellbeing of people? I’m inclined to think the only thing that stops the country from being unbearably terrible to live in for the majority of people is all the workers who do well intentioned work in spite of the bullshit systems they’re tangled up in that make their work harder. But they need to realize they don’t need those bullshit systems, never have, and they can create a system based on humane principles. They have to take power seriously first though.
tv, sports, religion, and drugs are what keep america going. Its bread and circuses but they do a double dose of circuses because bread is too much work.
Yep, when I graduate, I’m going to be paying them off for at least 20 years I bet you.
My sympathies. It really is awful.
In a room of infinite monkeys typing stuff randomly, at least one of them will write the entire Capital volume 1 on the first try. The rest will write YouTube video essays.
If you convert Pi to binary and then to asci eventually it will produce all the works of Marx in order of publication.
It wouldn’t because ASCII can’t write German letters ü, ö and ä. /j
Schrödinger’s… monkeys, right?
I have entered the secret world of tradesmen. Multiple workers in their vans have waved at me or let me pass on my bike ride to work. I have received multiple sympathetic nods from fellow workers on the way home after a day of working your ass off.
It is tiring and energizing at the same time to dig a trench for 8 hours a day. At least I now know how to efficiently dig a trench.
Trades are lit
I know that leftists, especially in America, seem to look askance at them, partly because the trade unions can be very conservative.
But a lot of some great and very radical friends of mine are in the trades labor unions.
I want to go into them myself now that I am in Europe.
Also, in America, there are a lot of very radical trans organizers making big wins in the trades.
5 minutes late GrainEater smh
I should play the new Grain Eater remake
Grain Eater: Kept you waiting, huh? (opens new mega thread)
Published by Konami, of course.

What is this paradise
Dragon Bridge, Han River, Da Nang, Vietnam.
Interesting!
I am a European citizen now so I should use a visa and go.

Have a great week everyone! Make sure you take care of yourselves and those you care about.
As always, communism will win.
🫵 You WILL have hope, comrade.
No
YOU will have hope. 🫵
Studying political economy is really paying off. I feel like I might be able to analyze things in the future. I’ve fallen off a bit with studying Chinese though, will have to try to pick it back up again.
Is Netanyahu still alive? If so, day ruined.
Head of the IRGC made a promise and I am holding him to it.
Inshallah
"Shai’tan is everywhere…
Watching…
Waiting…
He tempts us always!!"
(Channeling my memories of Assassin’s Creed I street dialogue, which I think in this case is the dialogue you hear in Damascus, idk)
Waiting for that testicular cancer to come back.
unfortunately yes. Not for much longer though.
I’m going to by trying to install Linux on my second drive tomorrow. I’m a little nervous as I don’t really consider myself that good with computers.
It’s pretty easy. Your main issue, if you are installing alongside windows, is that windows is known to wipe out your linux drive after updates.
My advice is to stick with one OS per computer, but I know that is not feasible for some people so if you have to dual boot just try to keep backups of whatever you have because you can run into data loss from windows.
AFAIK, windows updates won’t wipe your Linux partition, but it will override your bootloader. This makes it appear as if your Linux partition has been wiped, but it’s still there. You just need to repair the bootloader from a live CD/USB.
Wait, are you saying even if Windows and Linux are on separate drives, that can still happen?
Surreal scenes on a Dutch talkshow where a scientist was sounding the alarm on climate change followed by a guy who was praising China’s efforts on combating climate change saying their models might be the way forward. What is happening?
History
Decades happening in a few weeks, I suppose.
Started college again this week. I’m a bit older than the other first years. Someone asked me about a class today thinking I was a teacher lmao. I’m not THAT old.
We also had a protest this weekend at a local town where a refugee center will be located. A Dutch far right leader came to speech and there was a counter protest. We turned up with like five times as many people. It was great.
For the first time in years I am looking forward to work again for the coming week. I seem to have found my place.
Good to hear, happy for you.
Is hyrox a right wing sport? I only see these right wing liberal kinda types doing it. The consultants crowd. Maybe it’s their equivalent of bouldering.
What would you consider a “left wing” sport? I find myself thinking about this often, because while I can easily think up right wing ones (Golf, Motorsport), I can’t definitively categorise a sport as left wing inherently. Track and field? Gymnastics? What’s most closely associated to proletarian values and interest?
I would consider Rugby League a left wing sport, seeing as the sport split from rugby over working class players needing to be paid in order to be able to keep playing.
Also football, if only because it’s the most popular one.
Well
Uhhh
…can you race trains?
I lowkey though HEMA was but my comrade in Shanghai loves that shit.
She’s a good communist too.
So I had coffee for the first time today. It felt…fine I guess? I accidentally had a larger dose than I should’ve but like mentally it felt okay. For some reason it made me feel calmer. However it also made my arms feel like sore or whatever and my stomach hurt a bit. Idk. I think I’m gonna try cold brew and see how that is
You’ve never had coffee before? Is it because you’re Mormon or have you just never been interested?
The caffeine has never had a noticeable effect on me so I can’t relate to the people that drink it for an energy boost. But the flavor is nice. I like café de olla the most because of the taste of cane sugar.
Disinterest and anxiety. I used to be very anxious about things that affect my brain chemistry. Still am [no drugs, no alcohol] but to a lesser extent
