I haven’t gone deep into Marxist content on YouTube and the other reason I’m looking for suggestions is because I’ve had enough of the slanderization of communism on the internet. I don’t know any certain ML youtubers but it would be nice if you guys give me some channels to find out.

I will only suggest ones I haven’t seen anyone else mentioning.

    Juche Gang

    • As the name suggests, you will find a lot of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il works, but also Lenin and particularly Stalin plus commentary on current events and anarchism, social democracy etc.

    Comrade Virgo

    • More Marxist classics plus some queer theory.

    I Mix What I Like

    • A Black ML academic (retired at this point, I think)

    Historic_ly

    • Esha is an ML and a historian currently living in Russia where she’s writing her thesis. Focuses on history of WWII and Russia. She’s also a recurring guest on Iranian media like presstv.

The East is a Podcast is Tankie through and through. Sina also produces a bunch of other shows. Adnan Husain (also the name of the channel) is a medieval historian who works from a Islamic perspective. Lara at Psychic Militancy is a clinical psychologist from Lebanon, she’s an anarchist but a materialist one that reads theory and understands the abolition of the state must come after the abolition of imperialism. The Red Nation is an Indigenous American podcast with Marxist roots but is focused more on the anti-colonial struggle on turtle island. The Anit-Imperialis Scholar’s Collective and Critical Theory Workshop have some more dense academic/theoretical analysis and discussions.

The Anti-empire Project with Justin Podur was really good but he has left youtube because it is a fascist imperialist platform that sensors anti-imperialist and anti-zionist content and so he has posted up on substack because they are less into censorship. Same goes for Resistance is Fertile, they have moved over to Substack because they were banned for being unflinchingly supportive of the Axis of Resistance.

Millennials are Killing Capitalism have some interesting work though they sometimes strike me as bit revisionist… The have a series analyzing 80s films and deconstructing the propaganda embedded in millennial popular culture.(not my jam) They also have some good talks with academics and organizers discussing current events and actions. (my jam)

The Electronic Intifada is not explicitly ML but some of them are.

Warwick Powell is a Chinese Australian university professor who specializes in economics, supply chains and technology. I don’t know if he is explicitly ML but he is undoubtedly Marxist and is very supportive of China’s system of governance and international policy.

there’s probably some more good ones I cant think of.

Adnan Husain is one of my favs. Also seconding East is a Podcast and Red Nation, and usually MAKC but the film review ones get tired. Adnan had a terrific talk with Pascal Lottaz at Neutrality Studies. Pascal has some of those conservative anti imperialist Glenn Diesen rotation schmucks on but he gets so enthusiastic when he hosts people like Adnan and Radhika Desai that you know where his sympathies lie.

Hakim, FinnishBolshevik, Socialism4All, SecondThought, RebolutionaryTh0t, Bes D. Marx, Unlearning Economics, Fredda, GDF, JohntheDuncan, Lady Izdihar, Noah Samsen, ProleKult, Shaun, The Marxist Project, Three Arrows, and YUGOPNIK.

All of these are decent, I take specific issue with a few of them but none so severe as to not recommend them at all. Some of them are very niche in their scope or just marxist who make content through a marxist lense that isn’t specifically about Marxism. Anyway, they’re all worth checking out.

FinBol has been wrapped up in some controversy AFAIK(look it up as I have not), aswell as being a bit heavy on the anti-revisionism (at least in his Yugoslavia series, I couldn’t stomach more than 10 minutes of the first episode).

S4A does good audiobooks, but they’re also an anti-revisionist and have had some bad takes outside of thhe audiobook sphere.

I’ve heard accusations of Zionism about Noah Samsen, but that is to be examined.

The rest are either quite good or I haven’t seen them, and I should.

Both finbol and s4a can be described as ultras but they had enough good content for me to include them. I was exclusively referring to them in the latter half when I said I took issue with some

The others are true (especially Finnish Bolshevik, he was engaging underage fans in sexual roleplay which is five layers of fucked up); but Noah Samsen being a Zionist is a genuinely laughable accusation

Unlearning Economics is not a Marxist and I don’t even know if he is a leftist. At best he is a liberal progressive.

He has a few good videos, but his wrong criticism of the LTV is a disservice to people trying to learn Marxist theory. Thankfully, Victor Magariño refuted him thoroughly and completely. Bad Empanada also refuted Unlearning Economics defense of neoliberal economists.

If you want to learn Marxism from a modern economics perspective, I’d recommend Victor Magariño and The Marxist Project. Paul Cockshott is also very good regarding economics, but be aware he is a bigot with many anti-LGBTQs remarks. I’d also recommend Anwar Sheikh’s lectures but they are advanced, and not for people who are starting to learn.

        The Marxist Project

Only watched one video from them and found it a massive swing and a miss.

And because I hate vague posting:

(Parts of this are translated so apologies if it’s not perfect).

His analysis of contemporary imperialism falls into a blind worship of the superficial aspects of globalization, making fatal theoretical compromises. He readily dismisses the reality of the imperialist bloc as outdated Kautskyism, while ignoring the core tools of contemporary imperialism’s rule.

Denying the existence of the imperialist bloc ignores the dollar’s hegemony and its associated international financial institutions. The US-led imperialist group, through the dollar’s international reserve currency status and tools like the IMF and World Bank, is systematically reaping wealth from the Global South. He imagines an ideal equalization of profit rates resulting from free capital flow, ignoring the reality of the global network of exploitation maintained by financial oligarchs through extra-economic coercion. This financial hegemony constitutes the most solid economic framework of the contemporary imperialist bloc, and any discussion of multipolar competition divorced from this reality inevitably slides into the trap of vulgar economism.

His use of the Global South becoming the world’s factory to negate theories of unequal exchange and dependency is a complete failure to see the forest for the trees. The restructuring of global value chains has not changed the fundamental nature of core countries’ extraction of surplus value; it has only altered the more covert form of exploitation. The core countries are able to maintain this unequal exchange primarily because of their near absolute monopoly over cutting-edge military technology and high-tech industrial chains. This technological monopoly is not simply a result of market competition, but is forcibly maintained through the massive military machinery and intellectual property barriers of imperialism. While the Southern countries undertake the most arduous stages of physical production, they receive only meager processing profits, while the vast majority of surplus value is continuously drawn back to the core countries through technological rents and financial scissors. His simplistic attribution of this unequal exchange, built on violent monopoly, to the equalization of profit rates caused by market competition effectively obliterates the reactionary nature of monopoly capital during the imperialist stage.

It is precisely this structural oppression, interwoven with financial hegemony, technological monopoly, and military violence, that provides a solid material foundation for global resistance. In their development, the Global South faces a survival crisis: being permanently locked at the bottom of the value chain and constantly vulnerable to financial exploitation. This objectively existing structural contradiction will inevitably drive Southern countries towards unity and cooperation, gradually breaking the imperialist dependency chain by promoting local currency settlement, establishing alternative financial facilities, and deepening South-South cooperation. This unity is not based on subjective political labels or camp divisions, but rather on the objective historical requirement to break the imperialist system of exploitation.

To understand contemporary imperialism, we must see beyond the surface of global division of labor and recognize its underlying monopolistic nature, characterized by the collusion of finance, technology, and violence. Only by acknowledging the objective existence of the imperialist camp and its oppressive mechanisms can we truly find a realistic path to the liberation of the Global South.

I’m not trying to condemn you personally, sir. You can watch whatever video you want, it is not my problem. What I am saying is that Unlearning Economics is not a marxist, which if the content of the post. Yes, UnlEco has good videos, but that is it. I wouldn’t recommend to someone who is trying to learn marxist theory/economics or they would be confused with his views.

Three Arrows is anti-communist. I would leave out that recommendation if someone is asking explicitly for ML channels. Several others on your list are also just broadly anti-capitalist or anti-rightist but not explicitly communist or Marxist.

I haven’t personally seen anything from three arrows that was explicitly anti-communist but I also haven’t watched them extensively. Even though I am a ML I do still enjoy and absorb some anarchist perspectives from him an andrewism. Maybe wasn’t a great rec for someone new but I do still appreciate them and their views generally.

I meant to cover the anticapitalist but not explicitly marxists with the latter half of my original comment. Perhaps I could have been clearer.

Socialism For All does good audiobooks. He gets better time and time again after reading more and more; I’d recommend Anti-Duehring. His takedowns of the “SocDem Gang” are great. I don’t know what others there are considering how YT shadowbans a lot.

As someone who has listened to a good amount of the deprogram, JT is a principled Marxist Leninist who intentionally keeps secondthought at a 101 level. His goal is to convert liberals by being as uncombative as possible, professional presenting (like a lot of popular liberal infographic youtubers), and simple on the theory side. The channel is meant to make liberals go, huh yeah, capitalism is kinda structurally fucked ain’t it, right before he directs them towards more radical content.

He very much believes in the necessity of revolution, a vanguard party, and the dictatorship of the proletariat.
