Personally i feel the entire GK saga now is mostly irrelevant, we have more readily obvious issues to potentially rectify elsewhere, especially if you feel we’ve been lacking fluidity going forwards. Is Ramsdale coming back going to suddenly make our midfield tick? No. The media wasn’t on Onana’s back as much as they are Raya’s despite the former replacing a club legend and been steadily underwhelming until their last UCL game but people get suckered into it.
They definitely were on Onana’s back more than Raya, but the Raya saga is much more irrelevant because it’s about playing the better keeper which is somehow a point of discussion now
Schmeichel was trying so hard to gas him up when he made that penalty save the other day, talking about how this can be some grand turning point into a legendary career ahead. So annoying
Not just Schemeichel, i saw Rio high fiving him infront of the cameras, they’re so desperate for him to not be shite while they take turns trying to put the pressure on Mikel/Raya/Ramsdale. They signed him to play out from the back which he’s/they’ve yet to achieve but we’re the ones taking risks apparently.
