If you’re against the genocide committed by Israel, you probably shouldn’t buy coca-cola anyway
Edit: not just because they support Israel but they’ve owned their own death squads before too. This is not hyperbole.
their own death squads
never liked the brand but this is news. link?
Somebody delete your article?
Not that I can see, it looks like an artifact from the name ending in a period and my pasted link keeps getting broken, but the first option under the suggestions is correct
Oh yeah, looks like the link needs the period
tyvm!
Well, they linked the Wikipedia article that does at least a cursory cover of it, but yeah there’s evidence of the company being much more closely involved directly.
But at least they didn’t essentially start wars and fight revolutionaries using the US army like Chiquita banana did
Good thing wages have tripled to make up the difference /s
Water is still pretty cheap though.
Where are you buying water?
Fountain drink? Sure, for now.
Bottled? Absolutely not.
From the utility company, fuck bottled water
We dont have utility at my home. Our well water was unpleasant to drink. Had to refill two five gallon jugs every week. Lots of people in my area have to do that. The cost more than doubled in one year. Still much cheaper than pop, but drinking water seems like something that should be free to everyone.
Ive since installed a UV light filter and a five stage under the sink RO filter for a drinking water spigot in my home. My water tastes fantastic now, but it was an investment, required know-how, and needs twice annual maintenance.
Tldr: I understand why some folks still need to buy bottled water.
Then theres people with utility water thats literal poison eg Flint Michigan
Sadly bottled water is necessary in some cases, I just hope the effectice circular ecosystem of plastic bottle recycling ive heard about also applies to these water bottles (I heard it used as an excuse to support pop bottles being plastic but it sounds like bullshit until proven)
As for the copious microplastics…
I always see these IBC tanks in rural communities, but they still require a large-scale delivery method.
https://www.barrplastics.com/collections/economy-cage-tote-ibc
Well, you’re getting the microplastics no matter what you drink, so there’s no sense really worrying about it. We’re basically already fucked there. The best we can do is try to reduce how much is added.
It would be nice if places like Flint at least had a water service where you could go and get a several gallon (or multiple) drinking water tank, that you bring back to get new ones, like propane. People shouldn’t be forced to buy bottles. They country/state/nation should be providing an alternative until things can be fixed.
Plastic bottles have much higher amounts of microplastics vs tap water (which still has plenty, like you said) so tap would still be the lesser of two evils
Which is such a great way to describe our water supply, isn’t it? Both evil and poison but hey ones worse!
Not for much longer.
My toxic trait is that I strongly support any “food” that serves zero nutritional purpose becoming wildly expensive
You know you’re old enough to buy beer right?
And I’m just supposed to drink my beer without coke in it?
Ye but my boss gets angry at me when I crack open a few cold boys at my desk cubicle, instead of drinking soda
Man, ain’t nobody can afford beer now either.
12 pack beer for $10.49?
Alcohol is dirt cheap in USA
Only if you like dirt cheap alcohol
Faygo? It’s cheap as hell, and fuck, I’m broke. It is certainly not any better for you, but it is cheaper.
It’s also extremely regional most people can’t buy that, not that anyone should be buying soda

I’m split, kroger brand is likely the best priced I’ve ever seen…but I have personal issues giving them money when they openly bragged about price gouging during and after covid
This machine singlehandledly feeds my coca cola addiction

thats pretty bangin for a loosie
.2€ cheaper than supermarket coke
Don’t drink carbonated sugar water. It’s REALLY bad for you. Not just a little bad, not “I’ll walk an extra 100 steps” bad for you. Really fucking bad.
What non-water drink isn’t bad for you? Plain teas and black coffees?
Serious question. My dentist told me this same thing about soda and offered zero flavored alternatives. Like yeah, I could also eat white rice, broccoli, and chicken every meal and live a long, healthy, miserable life.
My dentist told me most of the issues with soda at least for dental health can be mitigated by rinsing with water afterwards so that the low ph environment that results in enamel decay doesn’t last long enough to do serious damage
Isn’t that the same idea as using a straw?
Not unless you put it down your throat
Just inject it into your veins.
An IV drip during the meal.
Have you tried water with ice?
Mmm ice flavour, my second favourite after air flavour
Seriously though they said flavoured alts
I’ve been drinking San Pellegrino ciao sparkling waters, they have like one gram of sugar and still taste sweet. I drink the shit out of these things
Fuck nestle
If you are drinking that much, just get a carbonator. Sugar drinks are really bad for you but spending money on putting co2 in water and shipping it all over the place is bad for all of us. You’ll save money and you can dial in flavors and sweetness really easily yourself.
spending money on put fa’s in water
Sorry? PFAS?
I don’t even know what I was trying to say there. Edited it to putting co2. Maybe putting flavors? Anyway you get the idea.
Agree. I have a soda stream and it’s great. I do buy the syrups occasionally (sugar free) but there are plenty of other ways to add flavor.
Cant buy a soda streamer without supporting pissrael genocide either lol
What else do you suggest I mix by rum and brandy with?
Why mix brandy at all? Rum is better saved for cooking with.
I just leave it open a little in the fridge for a couple days to let put all that terrible carbonation.
Dang, all the women in Hollywood really do be getting botox.
It was $5-7 for a 12pack for me only like 10 years ago…
Up until last year, fountain drinks at most places that weren’t restaurants were only a buck. Now they are as high as $2-3. Even for a refill!
Meanwhile I am buying 2L of what ever Aldi are calling their product that looks just like pepsi max for like 69p.
I seriously want to go back to 2000. If someone invents a Time Machine please stop by
My favorite drink is a drew barrymore.
It’s a whiskey twelve years old that’s all mixed up with coke.
Why tf would you ruin 12 yo whiskey by mixing it?
If you are balling out by buying whisky of that age, then you should sip it.
Save your mixed drinks for cheaper alcohol. You won’t notice the difference between a 12 yo bourbon and whatever plastic handle you find if you put a bunch of soda in it.
I think it was a joke
