Really doesn’t need the explanatory last line.
I take it as Picard saying that while theyre all yelling

Eh not as chaotic. I like the OG
I needed it 🤷
It’s funnier when you figure it out for yourself. Then you can comment “Took me longer that I’d like to admit,” or some other shit like that.
Related to Alot, I believe.

The creator of that image is a comedy goldmine:
You beat me to it, a lot.
I didn’t say “captain says”
Captain: Red Alert!
Riker: Oh was it a good book, Captain?
Riker: Ah, fine game from late 20th century. What does it have to do with the situation?
A lert is similar to an alot
*oatmeal reference
Edit: whoops 😅
Pretty sure the alot was Hyperbole and a Half wasn’t it? The Oatmeal is pretty good too.

You’re right!
I spent all of high school arguing with my English teachers about whether or not it is spelled ‘a lot’ or ‘alot’. I spelled out ‘alot’ so often in my assignments and argued about it that at one point, even the teachers began to question whether or not it was spelled that way. It was easier to confuse these things pre-internet and pre-google … plus I had a lot of gullible (but nice) teachers.
Red Dwarf had a good take on this:
“Blue alert!” Light starts flashing.
Followed by
OW ALERT!
When it gets to the OOF ALERT you know the ships in trouble

So, a lert is readable, and yell’able. &, I don’t think lerts get blown in Star Trek. At least I don’t recall a “blew a lert”. We’ll figure out wtf is a lert yet.
