My current conspiracy theory is that he is gonna get assassinated by the “”“far left”“” (aka totally not the Republican party), which will trigger a full fascist takeover. He’s too old for me to imagine him being able to make it through a full second term, and too unpredictable for Republican politicians to actually want him to be around; so the ideal situation would be to have him publicly assassinated and use that to drum up support for massive surveillance and restrictions on personal freedom.

Yeah even if he doesn’t get assassinated, I do think he’s nothing more than an idiotic puppet for the real enemies to democracy to command.

The biggest joke of all is how American voters believe that there’s any kind of active mainstream left in US politics.

His dad lived to 93 and his mum until 88. He might be with us for another couple of decades

This is where I disagree. I’ve watched this trump fellow for quite some time. The universe has a ginormous hard on for the guy, sure there might be 100 assignation attempts but guaranteed he squeaks through each one of them.

      He has 2 options.

First is the obvious saying that there’s nothing stopping him from running for a 3rd term, and once again using Jim Crow era vote suppression and other slimy tricks to win again.

The second option is to just declare that presidency is a for-life position. He can do that, after all.

And he’s making that last part perfectly clear. He is above the law. There are no consequences for him breaking the law, and nothing stopping him from doing whatever he wants. The people who could are so polite that if words won’t stop him, they say more words at him. That’ll do it!

The 22nd Amendment does. And it would take 38 states to vote to change that.

Isn’t there something about insurrectionists not being allowed to be president?

We’re about to allow an insurrectionist to be president.

Pretty sure no silly little written amendment on a piece of parchment will stop him. They sure haven’t before. Those rules only apply when HE wants them to.

I’m not aware of any such thing. In fact, I’d say that makes you more qualified.

I also think it’s bullshit to call Jan 6th an insurrection. I want a guillotine on the Capitol steps and actually armed people going against the police. Not for the reasons they did, just in general.

There’s no way. I think he’s legit too old, and he only needs 1 term to pardon himself and everyone he wants.
