    ps2 developed laser issues regardless. i’ve tuned and cleaned so many of those. should have charged but i liked my friends.

      do you know if there was a way to fix the Dreamcast laser? I was like 19 when mine started failing and I think I just kept turning up the voltage pot a teeny bit to fix it for a while until it eventually burned out.

        I do not know, but I learned the ps2 method by searching on the internets. I hate to recommend YouTube and reddit, but those are probably your best bets.

        If the laser itself is not salvagable, there’s always replacing the laser. I don’t know if it’s plugged or soldered in, but if it already doesn’t work, what more can you do to it?

      We had one that had to be cleaned every 3 months or so. The laser would begin sticking on the guide rails and have to be re-lubricated.
