“You cannot bring a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It’s that simple. You don’t have that right to break the law and incite violence.”
How is Alex situation different than Kyle’s aside from one being killed?
Do you feel that the US government is trying to infringe on constitutional rights of citizens. What are other ways that this government is going against the beliefs of libertarianism?
I don’t pretend to be an expert in 2A, but here are my thoughts.
- Police officers engaged in lawful policing duties are allowed to use deadly force when presented with deadly force. When you bring a gun to interact with police, they might shoot you if they perceive you as threatening.
- Kyle Rittenhouse didn’t go shoot at police, or go shoot at anyone really. He fired his gun when he perceived that his life was in danger. Should he have traveled to “defend property”? Maybe not, but he did.
Alex however never even fired his gun.
Alex never even reached for his gun. This is literally apples and oranges and I don’t understand how people are still trying to equate the two.
Makes me think of Philando Castile. And I think in this Alex situation ICE is even more clearly in the wrong.
Yeah, he just had a gun holstered while exercising his rights.
