1 year agoI think some people are missing the point here. Obviously yes you should drive your cars and not worry about the depreciation, and yes, it should be fairly reliable.
But if you’re driving 80 miles I’m going to assume you’re doing at least a moderate amount of highway cruising, for which I think a 991 is not exactly the best. I drove my base 991 on the highway (in Michigan) a fair bit and there are some downsides. Cabin noise made it tough to have phone calls and while the suspension is excellent, it’s still very firm. It can also be a bit unnerving in inclement weather with everyone around you driving their brodozers.
It’s not the sexy option, but I much prefer my Macan in pretty much all longer distance driving scenarios
I guess I can’t say exactly how it compares since I haven’t driven a Focus ST, but I would certainly not consider a 991 plush. There’s not a lot of sound deadening material in the cabin, in order to keep weight down, and the 911 has always been developed from the ground up as a sports car, not a luxury car.
