Simple.
Overperformed last season, and are a worse squad this season.
Prime reason for overperformance was mitrovic goal scoring.
They’ve replaced him with flat out bad players.

Free kicks taken as shots have a 6% goal rate overall. So that’s 1 in 17.
Being charitable probably between 1-2 in 10 from there I’d guess.
Liverpool fan for transparency.
No. There are a half dozen reasons for United being where they are.
The manager is low on that list.
He’s not amazing clearly, but changing manager again is just that definition of madness thing.
Trying the same thing again and again, expecting a different outcome.
Bournemouth fans go on about a patch of poor form late in the season, but its like they don’t realise they had literally the worst squad in the league last season, and looked like Derby County for the first couple of months.
Now O’Neil is doing well at wolves and their shiny new Spanish bloke isn’t all that, despite their squad being better than at least 3 teams this season.
Mental decision.
For context/transparency I’m a Liverpool fan.
They don’t have a big squad. None of City, Liverpool or arsenal have big squads.
They all have 13-15 starter level players, backed up by young players.
Most of those 13-15 cover multiple positions which gives the illusion of 2 per position.
Look at any of those clubs benches in league games. Against Chelsea, City didn’t even fill their bench spots.
