Most people turned to congratulate Chelsea for the fascinating game, but indeed Manchester City has a few advantages over key decisions. The most apparent controversies were the soft penalty awarded again, and no foul for the handball. Sadly if the standard of refereeing is normal, Chelsea should deserve a win.
The 21st century is the age of paranoia, conspiracy theories and the weak minded feeling like completely hopeless victims. State of this world.
I’m sure Ruben dias shared your sentiment, and that’s probably why he basically gave chelsea 2 goals
If you genuinely think the penalty at the end wasn’t a penalty then please stop watching football and remove yourself from this sub
I think he slipped due to the rain. I don’t think it was a moronic tackle as it looks like
Doesn’t mean that Dias is justified in thinking the ref decision in him was poor. He clattered the guy in the penalty area without getting the ball. As stone wall as it gets and the original reply was wrong to imply that the ref was unfair to city
It is a well known fact that Tapinland can only score penalties or tap ins (as a matter of fact he scored one each yesterday). They had to give him that penalty otherwise City would lose.
“Tapinland”. What are you 12?
Perling Paaland 👻
I love when people say ‘matter of fact’ then follow with a lie
The penalty wasn’t soft though, it was idiotic. Idiotic from cucurella, absolutely braindead foul after losing position.
Your bitterness is clouding your sense and judgement
But he is right. The ball was perfectly covered by Silva. And most probably Haaland would make a foul on his as he was not even close to that ball. Cucu just panicked and put his hands on him for no particular reason. But i do understand Cucu as well. It was a split second decision and it was the wrong one nevertheless.
Did you actually watch the same game as the rest of us or are you blind?
Man City has also had an illegitimate goal counted against Fulham which changed the game, Kovacic avoiding a sending off against Arsenal and the penalty at Old Trafford that shouldn’t have been awarded.
I don’t know why people are so afraid of calling it for what it is. Man City have only had 1 decision go against them this season which was the red card for Akanji in the 95th minute when they already beat Brighton. Yet they have had at least 5 or 6 go in their favour unjustly.
Nobody in the media will talk about it because Chelsea ended up drawing. It’s honestly disgusting how many decisions they get as if they’re Luton Town and need all the help they can get.
And it’s not just this season. One of their titles was won on a handball not being called. Absolute joke.
Go look up who scored the winner against Wolves and how he should’ve been sent off for a second yellow before acting like we also don’t get decisions that go against us
Handball outside the box not being called seems to happen almost every game - from the hard to notice to blindingly obvious like Walker, and Saka the other week.
However, with the “soft penalty” Haaland won, no one seems to be talking about the handball by Caicedo (?) In the box immediately beforehand. Why wasn’t it called for that? Granted, he was pushed but if that wasn’t considered a foul then why wasn’t it given as handball?
I still don’t understand how Haaland received a penalty for initiating contact with Cucurella first
this is becoming a weekly occurrence for City. the bias for them has been bad for the last couple of seasons but it seems like they’ve benefitted from huge calls every week now since the Arsenal match (Kovacic).
Or maybe, just maybe your team are the biggest bottlers in europe who cant cope with the pressure of being in a title race
When was the last time you saw a controversial call go *against* City?
log off, nephew. football existed before September 2008.
Your banter club still has 0 ucl before 2008😂😂. Cry more
See for me, the only thing wrong with the Cucurella/Haaland penalty is that it took five minutes to confirm it. I don’t love the call, but it was not an obvious error and it should only have taken one or two replays to move on.
Pep’s tactics are clear when City cannot score. Just keep falling to get a foul or a penalty and the goal will come. That’s why Grealish who is a master of this is one his favorite players. It will happen again against Liverpool, there is no doubt about it. City have destroyed the PL unfortunately and now Newcastle follows by offering the refs huge paychecks to officiate in Saudi’s league. Football has lost its magic because of the oil money.
To be fair we are not known for our diving, we are known for drawing fouls. There is a difference.
Plus if any team attacks as much as city and has as many touches in the box as city, they will get more penalties.
We often lead the league in touches in the opponents box, so that easily translates to leading the league in penalties won.
Even as a city fan I though the pen was soft, but not a clearly wrong and “corrupt” decision. Soft pens happen all the time.
Cucurella is a dickhead
It’s hard to not see corruption of the refs regarding man city. The season they didn’t give a clear penalty in the box to Everton, obvious not offside goal disallowed to Luis Diaz, and countless other calls are in favor of Man City. These weren’t wrong decisions that were somehow missed, we had video of them as clear as day and the calls were the opposite of what would be expected by any normal human being with working eyes. I guess when you can pay 100M for bench players, paying off a couple refs is no problem as well.
You can’t just blame city every time a team with an outside chance of winning the league has a call go against them. It’s tinfoil hat territory….
. I guess when you can pay 100M
name them
Sterling not sent off for endangering Foden, Cucurella not sent off with second yellow for some of the most egregious simulation you will ever see (right after Doku was given a yellow for simulation), Caicedo being allowed to foul repeatedly on a yellow, Gallagher not getting a yellow after committing six or more fouls (at least one of them worthy of a yellow on its own), and Chelsea awarded a penalty at the death to equalise (I think it was an obvious penalty, but if City are paying off the refs surely Taylor doesn’t give it on the technicality of Dias getting the ball).
But yeah, there is a conspiracy to help City that is so clandestine every Tom, Dick, and Bertrand not only knows about it, but start five threads a day in this sub to discuss it.
I honestly hate the trend of where if public opinion states that one team got the rub of the green from the refs in a match their fans come out and try and sensationalise literally any decision that could possibly have gone against them to ‘both sides’ it.
Sterling’s was never a red, yellow all day long and he was booked for it. Cucurella was dodging a bad tackle and literally didn’t even appeal for a free kick. Caicedo committed a whopping 3 fouls in the entire match etc.
Don’t get me wrong people banging on about conspiracies is dumb, but City in this match did get the rub of the green, and I can see why people are funny about them considering the financial fuckery on top of referees going off to the middle east to get paid on the side.
^ Clutching at straws. You guys got gifted a goal. Nothing compares against that. Just admit that you would have lost without Taylor and enjoy your league position
But you know what, I love mostly that Chelsea didn’t whine about it. Coach didn’t whine, players didn’t whine. That’s a focused team.
I think Chelsea played quite well but a lot of what they created was off city mistakes , Sterling goal off a terrible composure from gvardiol
And the Jackson goal was awful goalkeeping from ederson.
For me peps gotta take a lot of blame here , you need to shut up shop and control the game but city never did
For City to make mistakes Chelsea MUST play REALLY well… I just love this way of “seeing” the game. Same as Spurs just got “unlucky” to go down to 9 and not because they just simply couldn’t keep up after the first 15 minutes. Mate, we played so well yesterday that we forced City to start making mistakes and was much closer to winning the game that City was. That is all.
Jackson’s goal was a result of the power behind connors shot. He had no time to react, he could only block it and hope his defenders go to the rebound first.
Is it that much of a reach to say that Chelsea just played really well and made City play the game they wanted them to? This rhetoric that City only lose because they don’t play their best is just lazy.
Football is game of mistakes, city goals were eveb worse- bullshit pen, Silva mistake with akanji, penis goal by haaland and last goal was off silva
I share this same sentiment about those two goals. Silva’s was a corner kick, and Ruben had a mistimed tackle due to the rain, I suppose. It’s not like Chelsea carved City open. City also had the better chances. Sanchez had better saves
