I bought a beautiful AWD Mercedes estate a few years back from a dealer in New Jersey with only 40k on the odometer. Brought it home Saturday evening and the first Sunday morning drive to church the tranny gives out. Took it to a mechanic who was an ex Mercedes tech and he had Mercedes run the VIN turns out it had 140k on the odometer. Apparently Mercedes are hard to alter, dealer had to eat a 3 hour flatbed and I got all my money back. Dealer said he got it from auction like that. I was lucky it broke down right away otherwise I would have never known! If the deal is too good to be true it probably is!
