  • Anti-football is nothing new, in fact there’s defined eras of it. What you’re doing is recalling fond memories and comparing it with reality of the present.

These things come and go because the world is full of variance. Football is an endless cycle of change where someone breaks ground and the rest adapt. The media are just selling stories otherwise they’d address the rank incompetence of PGMOL, IFAB and the likes which is the fundamental factor in all of this.

The rampant corruption across the game, on the other hand, I find incredibly off-putting.

  • Absolutely fuck that. He’s special at his best but it’s no way consistent enough, too many top fullbacks shut him out and even decent ones can bully him out the game. His technique is so substandard at times where there’s a lack of space and time, like he’d get here. Maybe Arteta can help in ways but to pay even half of that for a player as flawed as him is crazy given what we’re chasing.

Idk how much time you spend watching Serie A, but I’ve seen as many games where he’s awful as he’s been good, looks good in a YT comp but that’s it. We just got rid of Pepe we don’t need a better version of the same problem.

  • “nobody’s really had the balls to really play them” is a very reductive statement. Klopp’s Liverpool is just one example that disproves this.

Circumstance is more relevant than anything. City missing key players, City having an elite outlet as ST but someone who’s completely disconnected from buildup, Pep trying different tactics that didn’t come off (some tacticos think its his worst game for City). On top of that Poch absolutely nailed it, like he did v Arsenal, but this time didn’t fuck things up with subs.

  • I just can’t understand how multiple officials cannot see Gabriel is being pushed. It’s so obvious Joelinton is exerting force on Gabriel with his hands that disrupts Gabriel. Someone says a vague vibesy thing about seeing the hands but unsure if that’s enough for Gabriel to go over that way, and that’s really it. There’s absolutely no scrutiny or critical thinking applied, not even devil’s advocate.

What’s maddening is when they went to check the offside, they’re using angles that makes the push even more obvious, and nothing. These lot just don’t understand how to assess things to any detail.

  • It’s not good, but I wonder how the reaction would compare had it been his agent saying this and not his Dad…

We were brutal so we could sieze an opportunity to bring in Raya, Arteta sold a story to the media that very quickly started to reveal holes. This is the result, you will piss off the other players camp and they are absolutely right to feel that way given how it all transpired. This happens a lot, although its usually the agent throwing furniture.
