Yes mods work, but they are more difficult to get running. I haven’t tried them myself.
Any Bluetooth controller should work. Lots of people have used PlayStation. I’ve used an 8bitdo, Nintendo switch, Xbox, and Google stadia.
3.64gb one is really intended to just hold the operating system and some compiled shaders. They expect you to buy an SD card to store your games on that model. Games take the same space if not a tiny bit more on steam OS to hold the extra shaders.
You could always add the game as a non steam game so that steam will adapt the controls.
Is it no longer supported? I literally used it last night. I’m on windows 10 though.
The baseus 65 watt battery pack was the one everyone was recommending a while back, not sure if there are better options no.
You might also consider just getting another charger with a longer cable if you play near an outlet. Then you don’t have the added weight hanging off the deck.
How much did you pay for it? A quick Google search shows that the other 2 drives are not quite as fast as the 740. Real world performance probably won’t be a lot different, but I’d double check that those other drives aren’t selling for cheaper than what you paid.
I’d contact steam support and see what they say.
You could ad another stick of ram for pretty cheap, but nothing you do to that laptop will make it play games better. Steam deck is going to be a little more powerful than the laptop, but not by a crazy amount.
If you’re on the fence, maybe consider one of the cheaper LCD options. It’s a good device still. I used mine to play rdr2 at work on my lunch break, then I started tinkering with ps2 and Nintendo switch emulation. Played God of war 2 last time I got stuck in an airport. Ended up playing through a whole bunch of assassins creed games I had on ps5 over the chiaki app.played games I streamed from my main gaming PC too. Also brought it with me to holiday parties to play jackbox party games.
Shower cheap too. eBay has them for $20 with free shipping.

They are emulating them with a program called yuzu. It is for emulating roms of switch games you already own and didn’t acquire through illegal means. That would be very bad and no one here does that…
