Sounds great for general use. I know many people by Dell Latitudes returned from a lease with i5 version 8 or 9, and they worked great. Easy to add more ram or replace the battery if you needed all day work while unplugged.

I think for really simple stuff like Roblox it will work. It just cannot play the games with more graphics.
I bought a Ryzen 7 5700u, and it definitely can play the simple games like Minecraft and Roblox.
I saw some good youtube tests on a Ryzen 5 5500u. It seems especially good for Minecraft and the like.
It seems the Ryzen 7s on a budget machine are decent if you want to play basic things, especially if things like Roblox or Minecraft were good enough.
The newer version of what I picked up is a Ryzen 7 7730. It is decent on basic stuff.
I heard the Ryzen 5 5500u is supposed to be really good for gaming. It seems to have a great turbo mode. So, if you find a new or mint used budget laptop with that it should perform well if the ram is 16 or can be upgraded.
This Vivobook looked really good.
I have had good luck with the Ryzen 7 7730u and prior version.
Most companies don’t start your warranty til you connect to the Internet. So, your warranty should be extended.
That does look good. I got a similar model last year this time. It is a really good laptop. I think mine was name an Ideapad 5. I have the same Ryzen 7 5700 cpu. It really works great for Office, Adobe Professional, streaming Prime Video, Cisco Webex meetings.
I think you should enjoy it.
It sounds like the fix ups are fairly major. I know in US has super low prices, but here you can get a 24 month old model for about $250.00 on eBay from Acer’s eBay site or a private seller that does sell certified refurbished. You can also get a refurbished Thinkpad or Latitude for $350.
An IdeaPad 3 or a Aspire 3 with either Ryzen 5, Ryzen 3, or Intel i3.
If in the US, the Dell Outlet often has open box or overstocked Inspiron that starts at $375.00.
It should perform well. The H chips are fast, but they suck up your battery pretty fast. I have liked some of the Lenovo Ideapads with a Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 a bit better.
Here are a few more, but the one you looked was really solid…
This one at Walmart costs a little more, but it will have nice speed and battery life.
Staples had a couple good ones too. The i5 u series will last a bit longer.
I think it looks good. I know that used business laptop buyers think the new or old t14 or 16 is really good.
I bought an Ideapad 5 almost 11 months ago at Best Buy USA. It uses the Ryzen 7 5700u. This 7730 is an updated version with a small 5% speed boost. The cpu is excellent. I don’t do anything crazy. I mostly do Adobe Acrobat Pro. Office 365, Zoom or Web ex by Cisco, stream movies or live sports from espn+. The cpu is great with good ram. I can open 500 page pdfs while contacting a zoom conference, and using office for notes. When I started using this, I was amazed how fast you can link to zoom. My old laptop needed about 90 seconds to get zoom images to fully load.
Sorry for going on and on, but I think this should be a great purchases. Feel free to respond back.
By the way, the Ideapad 5 Slim is a good consumer laptop too if anyone else in your family needs to replace a laptop in the near future.
Supposedly, Intel i5 gen 13 i5u is much more energy efficient the the prior i5 and i7 versions. I just someone post a list of chip benchmarks. It seems that the i5 version 13 budget laptops are just starting to roll out. So, I don’t know about real world testing with streaming youtube and Ms Office work.
Generally, it usually goes well. If you look at the satisfaction rating, it gives you a good indication. If someone does a good volume of sales with a satisfaction of 94% or above, it is a safe choice especially with the warranty. I think most of the volume have a good approach to battery testing and checking the needed drivers and wiping the drive.
I would worry about a 4% unsatisfied number as some people complain about everything.
I think it looks fine. It does seem Windows 11 seems to use most of your ram when even doing light tasks, but if you do something more demanding like start a Zoom call and open PDFs for the meeting, it reallocates the ram with the new needs.
The IdeaPad 3 slim is a really good budget item. You can pick any time for $499, but there should be good deals the next few weeks.
Check out the Dell Outlet on their site. They should have some decent Inspiron models starting at $380.
Dellrefurbished.com has Latitude business computers returned after a lease. They should have have models with i5 version 8 around $325.
Thinkpad T with a similar Intel chip works too.
Acer runs a good refurbished site on eBay that ships from Texas .
One drive from MS is a good deal too. So, you can swap stuff between the cloud and your drive whenever you need to. So, you could leave all your Minecraft stuff in the cloud and just put on the CD drive when you play it.
That is a good deal. The Ryzen 3 that the laptop used is really quite good. This would be a good deal at $450.
It should work really well.
I am not the greatest on predicting the future, but it has plenty of cores and cpu power.
I know some people who buy Dell Latitude after a 4 year lease expires, and they have said i5 version 8 or 9 is plenty fast for streaming or productivity stuff like Office or Adobe Editor for PDFs.
