Shearer pre injury was unplayable. He did all the old Alan Shearer power and strength stuff but could pick the ball up 40 yards out and run at pace. He was skill and pace and was and incredible player. This sub underrates him because they didn’t see him pre injury. Wright was probably the best of the rest he was better finisher than Shearer and more skillful. Fowler as a kid scoring 30 goals three years in a row was like nothing anyone had seen. Razor quick, so nimble and deadly them three were so good.
Ferdinand, Collymore, Cole, Smith, Sheringham…. Incredible talent pool of strikers plus legendary genius like Merson, Beardsley, Barnes, Le Tissier who were fantastic options as deeper strikers.
Wright is the best finisher I’ve seen in English football he deserved more caps but Venables had his favourites. Venables froze out Merson because he was apparently a bad influence on Gazza! You can’t make this shit up sometimes your face doesn’t fit. Wright was petulant, angry and moody at times and always seemed ready to start a fight in an empty room I am sure this hampered his international career. The chilled out uncle Ian the youth see on twitter isn’t the spiky kid who played for Arsenal. Man’s matured massively. Respect
Not watching Keane and Neville. Wright was done dirty as were many Arsenal players. 89 and 91 title winners and not a single player went to the 90 World Cup. England used the Arsenal players to qualify even trying to sabotage us with friendly in Saudis Arabia etc and didn’t take any Arsenal man to World Cup…… The anti Arsenal bias is real
Streets remember Alex Song getting done dirty by Dennis Bergkamp in the pre game warm up exercise before Villarreal semi final first leg.
Remember the hype when we signed him. Sky sports news showing his scoring for Everton and man like me remembers one goal that was pure Ian Rush. I’m thinking this kids the business fam and will score the goals that man like Bergkamp and Henry couldn’t. Truthfully I think he was a good player but wasn’t the right club for him. He has good movement, quick pace and finishing was decent. Even if you don’t make it at Arsenal he still should have had a good career. Clive Allen etc
My team have never been relegated in over 100 seasons. Only get the turnover of clubs coming up and cup ties so see new grounds. Probably not more than 50 grounds including European grounds despite going home and away for years
Arsenal only beat one top half side away that season. Henry scored two goals away to top half sides that seasons. Arsenal lost the league because of their away form winning eight away, drawing seven and losing four of the eighteen away games. Losses to Blackburn, utd, Everton and Southampton and draws away at Chelsea, spurs, Newcastle and Liverpool killed Arsenals title defence.
Henry didn’t deserve to be European footballer of the year because he was a he didn’t do enough away to make his side champions.
If one win away against top half sides isn’t good enough to make Arsenal champions don’t try and act like Henry two goals away against top half side is good enough to make him champion. He wasn’t good enough.
A supreme player would have scored and dragged his team to wins when Arsenal dropped points away to the big rivals Chelsea, spurs, Liverpool, utd,
Or them rougher physical sides like Everton, Bolton and Blackburn.
No striker has won European football of the year with less goals away against top half sides. Van Basten, Weah, Ronaldo, Shevchenko, Messi, Ronaldo, Baggio all managed it.
Only one I can think off who didn’t manage it is Micheal Owen in 00/01 but Owen scored a hatrick away for England in a qualifier against Germany and scored two goals in the FA cup final. Owen shook the world with them goals in them massive games. Henry didn’t score in them massive games either!
Nigel Winterburn goaded McLair after he missed a penalty after a dive.

Respect but that team would cook. Sad for Odergaard but Wilshere shuttling up and down where Xhaka played is a bad man. Rice and Partey are massive players. Forward line is great I love Jesus physicality and pressing etc but Van Persie was next level. Sanchez is dynamite.
He matched Henry’s total goals at Stamford Bridge yesterday, smashed Henry’s Old Trafford total goals a few weeks back. He doesn’t get the respect on his name he deserves
Respect for Diwali but also respect for all them dogs and cats scared of fireworks.
Lol. Like a black man in KKK country getting an independent jury! Don’t fuck with us. Pissing in our pockets and telling us it’s raining. Whose on the inpendent panel? No motherfuckers are neutral about Arsenal.
Pat Jennings hands like shovels. Coming out for crosses and claiming the ball one handed.
Two of the absolute best. Seaman aside Jennings must be the best keeper we’ve ever had and there isn’t much between them, I wouldn’t argue with someone rating Pat as the better of the two.
Liam Brady is the King of Highbury. Kids need to put respect on his name. A genius.
We did Mike Riley get promoted to head of PGMOL after this…… We are all just asking questions! Taylor gets rewarded with a huge game, Mike Riley gets the top job!

Fellow alcoholic here. 17 years sober. Happy to talk to you if/when you want to knock the booze on the head
Vieira is the best player I’ve seen at Arsenal so is the clear choice. Overmars would be deadly in this side ahead of Martinelli and plenty of forwards would be an upgrade on Jesus/Eddie. Wright would be ideal as his he has similar skill and that fight against much bigger defenders like Jesus has but is a far better goalscorer. Smith as a back to goal centre forward would be fantastic and an Anelka/Henry would be brilliant but they wouldn’t do the dirty work that Jesus gives us.
That’s why man like Vieira was the best. He turned up and performed home and away against the best. Some other star talents in them teams were bad man in home games but went quiet away. Rice that fight in him. Super player
Streets don’t forget his banger away to Chelsea to equalize after being 2-0 down. But he scored a couple of sick goals away in Europe in the snow in Moscow ? When we lost 4–1 and another beauty in the Ukraine I think.
