i said it before but the early stats is terrible. Raya will face more players with space to shoot because arsenal tend to commit less defenders. this also leads to more errors as teams have more datapoints on how arsenal plays which is why you saw numerous chelsea players mark the center of the pitch and pressured Raya (see his pass to a chelsea player).

it’s going to happen because raya will not have the luxury of a sea of defenders in front of him and when that happens they (both ramsdale and raya) tend to panic because the odds are against them.

it’s normal. it’s going to happen as part of how risky arsenal is trying to be.

further more with declan rice, we will concede more goals than last season (i know it’s weird that a defensive minded player we brought on would result in that, but think of where declan rice is operating and it going to be slim margins where he’s caught off that we will be regularly punished).

Ramsdale is younger and has the physical attributes that make him better than Raya overtime. The difference isn’t so stark but in any case we still would have a better keeper at the end of the day whether it’s ramsdale or raya. just no more alumina.
