The players on hand dictate the football you play. Unless they’re an idiot, no manager is going to scoff at using one of the best players in the world because they don’t fit into what they’re doing at a certain point in time.
Saka at most, and sem that is contentious.
He’s not wrong, there’s a massive power imbalance in European football, and it doesn’t bode well for the continent in its entirety. Super League is needed, if for no other reason but to screw UEFA over.
Depends on who is the next manager of either team, I don’t rate either ten hag or Poch that highly. That said probably Chelsea, they’ve recruited more intelligently for the long run.
Poch is not the same tier as Arteta I’d argue. He’s pretty much been carried by managing a decently big team. But what has he achieved really?
Forget Ange, what has Poch won, what has he done in his career to make a case for him even being better than beheaddie Howe?
Moyes is elite in the Europa League, 2 seasons in Europe, 2 finals. Emery had Villarreal playing in the UCL semi finals, he’s never had a season as bad as west ham had last season though. So far I’d say Moyes is as good in Europe as ten hag, while Emery is a level above.
And Arteta could handle them? All the problem players under Emery were shipped out under Arteta, they were lost causes.
How? He did well even with big names, Aubameyang has pretty much been a flop everywhere he’s been since Emery who actually got a tune out of him, winning him a golden boot along the way.
What did he do wrong at PSG? Even at Arsenal arrived to a train wreck and did decently getting Arsenal to pretty much their 2nd European final ever and wasn’t particularly far from finishing in the top 4 either. He’s like Lukaku where the bad runs have come to characterise his career more than the great ones he’s won pretty much everywhere he’s gone, what more does he have to do
Emery had a better first 18 months than Arteta, Emery just didn’t have the club built around what he was trying to do the same way Arteta has.
Depends if Guardiola is there the next 5 years otherwise there’ll be a drop off. Quite a few of the core group are already a bit older and struggling to keep up physically with de Bruyne at the point of being a part timer now.
City aren’t as good now as they were then. Kyle Walker went into the season hoping to blitz the season, and they’ve been OK by their standards, but not at their best. Liverpool could afford that result, it’s still early doors, the results that really matter are from December onwards. What will cost Liverpool will be lack of a proper DM, I just don’t think Arsenal are in serious contention, they just aren’t as good, seriously over performed last season, and I don’t think the new players necessarily close that gap.
The English national team is also diverse, one of the most diverse in Europe.
You’re surely not talking about the bald head Howard Webb?
Probably right message, wrong messenger. Can’t imagine a worse fanbase to be advocating for the referees right now. They’re literally getting gigs in the UAE.
Douglas Luiz similar profile and he’s much, much better.
