I’m a firm believer that you need to give a manager time (usually at least 3 years) to get his players into the team and teach his system to them. But my God United are so hopelessly dysfunctional and I really don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, I think ETH has to go.

For me “world class” is defined as “would the best teams in the world find a way to get you into their first XI”. Only guys I see that are in that class are Saliba, and arguably Rice & Saka, though I think those two are just a touch short.

Rice has this ability to carry the ball forward in a way that looks like he’s about to pick out a pass, causing defenders to look to cut out passing lanes instead of closing him down, and the end result is him running into tons of space. It’s really subtle but so effective.
