An Invincible season for Spurs coming up…
That picture of Emery there is perfect.
“You like that, aye? Want more of that, aye?”
It is a beautiful thing to watch Unai Emery cook, and from the moment he went to Villa, he has not only cooked, but opened a chain of restaurants.
Fans are not only paying for their meals, but leaving a hefty tip in the jar as they exit, bellies full, palette enriched.
(Eat your heart out, Mr Drury.)
The best he could with what he had to work with. Created a good chance for himself with a lovely first touch. Movement was on point. A few inches off here and there.
Clearly talented. Raw, but very much there.
Motherwell legend Stuart McCall.
No, really. Man got us to a CL qualifier, and a Scottish Cup final.
Love him.
Your players are both everywhere, yet nowhere for a team mate to find without stopping, looking, then passing.
Sheffield Utd players really just have to stand still to stop the threat.
A nervous first half from two teams daring not to lose.
Utd are playing the better football (as they should), but Utd have more fight in them, and are more willing to, as Roy Keane would call it, smell the danger.
Not going to predict a winner. It’ll either be Utd or Utd. Or a draw.
“Not surprised Maguire has got the nod here…”
Is there any other option to choose from? Weird thing to say.
Fuck knows what Man Utd we’ll see tonight.
They veer from clown shoes to competency to occasional brilliance. Usually in the space of a minute. Minus the brilliance and the competency.
Will probably get lost in all the piss-taking of how legitimately bad Arsenal have played here, but Chelsea have been very good this early evening.
Tactically, absolutely spot on, and their pressing has been relentless when high up the pitch, and shape flawless when defending deep.
This goalkeeping situation is becoming farcical, and it is entirely self-created by Arsenal.
I don’t get it. Have never gotten it. Even when their fans (who know a lot more than I do) explain it, or Arteta talks Raya up, I don’t get it.
Two players for each position I get. Two starting goalkeepers for one starting place I don’t.
Even with potty training I find myself surprised Jamie Redknapp knows how to shit in a toilet.
I hope it keeps raining as I am genuinely fascinated to see what if any difference it makes to the texture and composition of Arteta’s hair.
It is, and it was an eye opener seeing so many of the teams you would expect to see both in the group stages and the later rounds being eliminated so early on.
It’s a tricky one. The current format is not a million miles away from the old European Cup method, something a lot would argue would benefit the men’s CL format. But, the women’s game is, in comparative, still in its infancy. You’d want the bigger stars to be at the business end to bring more eyes. More eyes equals more profile. More profile equals more commercial opportunities. More commercial opportunities equals more money put into the game.
But, you also don’t want to close shop, and have the same names reappear over and over again (much like the men’s CL).
It’s tricky, and I ain’t smart enough (or informed enough, given it’s only the last two seasons I’ve begun to watch the women’s side to this sport) to offer anything better. But those qualifying rounds are brutal. You have to be on it at a very early stage of the season. Maybe that’s an answer? Push these games back a month or two?
I do wonder how Pep would have used him at City.
Knowing Pep (we’re close mates), it’s easy to think he would have utilised Kane’s (I still think underrated) passing ability more than his finishing. Imagine. Kane playing through balls to Haaland, rotating with either Haaland in one game or KdB in another.
Fuck. Might have won City the League Cup last year doing that.
Pretty cool.
Would be even cooler if there was a hierarchy like The Stonecutters.
