You are downvoted but not wrong. Wireless CarPlay greatly impacted the actual customer satisfaction by making it unreliable for many who don’t know how to check the various settings. When it was wired you just plugged it. Still can but customers don’t know how to solve wireless issues.

Next gen cars have built in maps and music and cellular connections. GM wants to force you to use theirs instead of CarPlay so they can charge subscriptions.

CarPlay is your phone projecting an interface on your car. You can use Spotify directly, navigate with Google maps. Message people with iMessage.
