Sample part 2 of 3. I really like this scent. The base performed fine. I’d put it between Noble Otter and Chiseled Face.
I’m gaining skill with Lo Storto. I think closed combs let me be more angle-lazy, or rather, the bar is pushing the skin down and the blade gets a slightly different angle. With this open comb, I’m doing better with leaning further back on the cap but not quite “riding the cap.”
Have a great day!
Have you tried a Fatip Gintile?
Not yet. I was eyeballing the Lo Storto Gentle last night. :) I like the heavier Piccolo handle, but it’s pretty thin. I am thinking of getting the wider, lighter handle with the closed comb Gentle.
I’m happy to send you mine if you’d prefer to try before you buy. I have this one https://maggardrazors.com/products/fatip-classic-testina-gentile-chrome-finish-closed-comb-de-safety-razor-42122
Thank you for the offer. I’m on a slant binge. I’ve got the Lo Storto Gentle in my Maggard’s cart ready for the next sale :)

- Brush: Omega - 10048 28mm Boar
- Razor: J. Koester’s Sons 11/16", full hollow, square point (7)
- Lather: Catie’s Bubbles - Verdigris - Soap
- Post Shave: Stirling - Ramblin’ Man - Aftershave
- Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented - Balm
- Fragrance: Stirling - Ramblin’ Man - EdT
Verdigris is a nice scent for a warm day. Today’s our wedding anniversary, so I went with my wife’s favorite splash/frag.
After a week of shaves on this razor without stropping, it’s still going strong. If anything it’s settled into a more comfortable place, though I did slice myself pretty badly on my upper lip (user error). At least I know it’s still sharp.
I’ll continue to push the edge to see when I can notice it start to drop off.
Good luck with the Monday y’all!
Happy Anniversary!
Thanks man, to you as well!

- Passes & Info: single pass WTG head shave. Not bad, not great - simply OK.
Back from the dead - or, at least, back after a bad cold had me on low energy levels after work. Yeah, I had to work regardless; too many sick colleagues already and we were already short staffed.
Not my greatest head shave, but it was a good start to ease back into it. Since a lot of the hobby is scent-focused for me, I usually only trim when my nose is stuffed and I can’t appreciate the smells.
One early shift down, 5 more to go this week with only one day off on Thursday. Currently feeling a bit disappointed with everything; hope it clears up soon.
Bad staffing–
I’m sure the people already there are happy to have you there to help fill in the gaps.
Definitely, even though it’s hard I try to help as much as I can. We’re mostly RNs left, most assistant nurses are either on sick leave or vacation 🤷🏻♂️

3 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Very nice test shave of this edge from my Olympus stone. I think the stone produces a very keen comfortable shaving edge but I do not find it to be unique in character the way some others in the shaving community do.
