basically its about getting the number below “Verhältnis” (translated to something like ratio) getting as big as possible
Seeding linux ISOs for plausible deniability 😏
You found an easy way to keep them updated with new releases?
Nope, i simply wanted a bunch of stuff to try it out
translated to something like ratio
Ratio is exactly the word we use in English bittorrent.
I think they mean “Verhältnis” (google says ‘relationship’) doesn’t really mean ratio, but ratio is what we use in english.
“Verhältnis” means booth relationship and ratio.
For relationship (social) we use more “Beziehung”
“Beziehung” is more about connection itself while “Verhältnis” is more about ratio/weighting options between connected things/judging

How can the two be a fraction? Did you download it several times, or does it count partial uploads?
It’s bytes downloaded divided by bytes uploaded. Torrents are distributed so more often than not you download a file from several seeders
Torrenting can be seen like a big classroom.
There are teachers (seeders) who have the entire knowledge you need
But it could be that there are more students for 1/n teacher/s to handle or you could be very far away from all the teachers
BUT: everyone who still has te learn (peers) are free to share their notes
So basically everyone helps informing everyone so its totally possible that at the end you only got like 0.12 from the teacher and already helped someone else with 0.1Also torrenting allows pausing the download so alone this reason makes torrenting better than normal http-downloads-from-some-website (at least to me)
And everyone has the answer book (hash of every chunk in the .torrent file) to check that they’re not being bullshitted by malicious peers.
You can cross-seed (distribute knowledge found in other classrooms or the internet) if the answers match.
The tracker does roll call (Namensaufruf).
