    The problem is states like Nevada have outlawed strip mining because mining for lithium pollutes the water table. We certainly don’t want to add to the climate problems by doing that. And we already see the water supply issues in the west where most of the mining would be able to be done. This is not a model that will ever get approved.

      It may be the only place that’s allowed in Nevada has the largest lithium deposit but has outlawed strip mining so it can never be touched it pollutes the water table

    Lithium is important right now, so this is good news if it is true, but I would be surprised if we don’t see some big advancements over the next 20 years that make it less important. If we ever figure out how to produce supercapacitors that are sufficiently super and sufficiently capacious, we could conceivably stop using batteries altogether.

      Nevada has the largest Auge of lithium, but at the same time they have blocked stripmining because it pollutes the water table. so mining here in America will be largely impossible because we are not going to allow the Earth to be destroyed in the name of saving the earth
