1 year agoLithium is important right now, so this is good news if it is true, but I would be surprised if we don’t see some big advancements over the next 20 years that make it less important. If we ever figure out how to produce supercapacitors that are sufficiently super and sufficiently capacious, we could conceivably stop using batteries altogether.
Road maintenance is typically paid for with taxes levied on gasoline. This will need to change eventually. Personally I think it should wait in order to speed the transition.
