I hear a lot about the various EVs on the market and their drivetrain/software/ride quality but I rarely hear about the quality of service that comes post-purchase. Perhaps because it’s not an exciting topic.
Which brand would y’all say has the best or worst reputation in the regard? How would you say Chevy compares to Tesla or Hyundai?
I ordered an electric VW in the summer of 2022. They quoted me 3 months for delivery. Then the chip shortage started. Then the war in Ukraine started. When three months passed the dealership called me and offered a loaner vehicle for free until I got my car. They gave me a free car for 9 months. That was service.
Wow, that’s seriously impressive. Did you end up getting your VW?
Wow, that’s incredible! What dealer? They should all be like that.
Riemer Autohaus in Mölln Germany.
Oh, that makes sense. This would never happen in the US. 😒
I almost can’t believe it considering our experiences with their customer support lines. Mind you, our closest dealerships might just be garbage.
Damn! That’s unbelievable! Were you a previous customer or something?
It was weird. This was my first time leasing a car in Germany and when I went to the dealership to talk to the guy and price it out we basically did the configurator online. He printed it out and said okay. This is everything. This is the price. (Same as when I did it online at home) and we ordered it. No extra bullshit was pushed on me. On delivery day everything was ready. No surprise charges or fees. I was in and out in less than 20 mins. The dealership was Riemer Autohaus in Mölln. It takes me 1.5 hours to drive there, but they have always had exceptional service.
Wow. That’s really above and beyond
The war in Ukraine started in early spring 2022, so before summer 2022. Something is off. Chip shortage also sound like late 2020/whole 2021/early 2022, rather than late 2022
